The Salvation *'s Major Jeff Winterburn was on hand at Canberra Stadium on Friday morning, to present stand in Raiders Captain Jason Croker with a certificate of appreciation for the Raiders help in the Salvation *'s recent red shield appeal.
Mr Winterburn said the Salvation Army had raised over $3000 from the appeal held during *'s round 10 match against the Sharks, and thanked the Raiders and Canberra Stadium for letting the appeal take place.
â€*'s with great support from people like the Raiders and Canberra Stadium that collections of this magnitude can take place,†Mr Winterburn said. “I look forward to next year with great excitement and hope even more money can be raised.â€
*'s general manager Don Furner said the Raiders are very thankful for the Salvation *'s certificate, and hopes their relationship continues in the future.
“The Salvation Army is a wonderful cause and we are just glad that we could help,†Furner said. “I’m sure next year we will be able to have a similar initiative to help the *'s.â€
