Slightly different.

Millie Boyle has recently married Adam Elliott and obviously taken his surname. Tazmin Gray is Jordan Rapana's sister so presumably has gone back to her maiden name for some reason.

From Harden to Sky Blue: Kemp coming to terms with Origin debut

“My backpack says No. 16… what does that even mean?”

Grace Kemp's mother, Kirsty, giggled as she read the message on her phone from the NSWRL Centre of Excellence car park.

"It’s because you’re in the team, Grace," Kirsty thought to herself.

Driving from the south west NSW town of Harden with her mum after being called in for an extra training session in Homebush, Kemp thought she was merely there to fill numbers – but walked out in line for a Sky Blues debut.

Welcome to our coverage of tonight’s Women’s State of Origin I at Lang Park. This match is broadcast on Nine and Nine Now, only. We will have live scores here. Canberra Raiders to watch are Zahara Temara and Sophie Holyman from the Maroons and Grace Kemp from the Blues.

Only one late switch for the Blues.

Interesting seeing the player intros and them calling out their junior club. Sophie Holyman just said her name. Seems they don't want to acknowledge the Rugby Union background.

We have had the official ceremonies, it is reportedly a record crowd for Women’s Origin, but lots of empty seats. Zahara Temara kicks off, we’re underway.

6th min TRY BLUES to Emma Tonegato, besides the posts. Blatant forward pass in the lead up to prop Caitlan Johnston, Tonegato backing up. Converted.

10th min TRY BLUES to winger Jaime Chapman. Queensland didn’t chase the kick, didn’t come up in a straight line, and she ran around Evania Pelite easily. Converted.

Blues are on fire early! Looking much fitter around the ruck. Good leg speed and spreading the ball after pushing up through the middle.
Good stuff... up to QLD to respond now

19th min PENALTY GOAL BLUES to Rachael Pearson. Ruck infringement brought a penalty instead of a set restart.

Blues 14-0

Blues let the kick off go dead.

Unlucky call there, thought that was a clean steal by QLD, NSW push it out to 16-0
Not thrilled about the decision to kick for goal either, 14 or 16 makes very little difference imo

54th min TRY MAROONS to Tamika Upton. New South Wales did not stop the first one it seems. It’s off the back of a red zone repeat set. Queensland getting some good offloads away. Zahara Temara converts.

Brutal error
Should be a one score game with 9 minutes to play
But remains a 2 score game
QLD coming home with a wet sail and dominating this half

How crucial was that drop ball over the line by QLD. NSW scored down the other end. 12 point turnaround.

Would have been a VERY tight finish if QLD score that try

SOO remains at its best, IMO, when NSW are winning and QLD are coming after them

First ever 3 game Womens Origin series and NSW have taken the first game after a very fast start to the match. They have the opportunity to wrap it up in the next game. From this Blues supporter perspective, I hope they do.
