I was laughing my **** off too the last half of that game. Whitehead getting gassed just walking off the bus but kept turning up time and again. Lucky he's got the bye next week to recover.
At the end there it was great work by Taps off the scrum to break as soon as allowed and cause an error without drawing a penalty. Fantastic work by Strange on the try assist when he finally got a pass that wasn't a janky piece of crap.

How good. Weird thing was I had a feeling we’d go close after seeing how we approached our first few sets after halftime. So much purpose. Ricky must have changed up the half time routine.

Funny what happens when you have a bogus 11-2 penalty count against us in the first half, and then 2-8 in our favour in the second.

Honestly, some of those ruck penalties in the first half were ridiculous.

Our defence in the 2nd half was strong and the ref stopped giving them a leg up every set
I thought Starling was better this week. Young had a bad first half but improved.

What really stood out for me was Weekes and Strange playing with confidence due to the metres made by our forwards in the second half. Tapine and Mooney were great

If ever there was a case for voluntary tackle that was it. Very dumb play from Young and lucky to not be penalised for sure
That should have been a penalty to Manly in front of the sticks.
It’s never been called in the NRL era, but geez Hudson made it a possibility.

Seibold is going to be awake at 3:47am staring at the clock, grinding his teeth and shaking his head with fury trying to figure out how he lost that game

The raiders heading back down the Hume in ski masks and 2 competition points

I’m still laughing haha

Rule change, not a penalty. (as an aside, it bugs me when the commentators, commentate based on rules that have long since been changed from back in their day)(not that they did in this game)

Don’t think it was that ridiculous. The ref came having decided he wasn’t going to tolerate jumping off the goal line early. Neither team adjusted and just kept giving up 6 agains.

It’s not the refs fault that both teams were too dumb to adapt to it.

On all seriousness, I said in the first half that we looked a lot more positive with the ball, and I’d you take out the period Hopoate is off the field we really weren’t that far off them. To hang in there and come back like we did shows real character.

Crotic had a great game in his return and what can you say about Whitehead?

I’d love to see Rapana in for Whitehead after the bye and Saulo back for Guler, and that’s getting back there for a good balance between youth and experience.

They obviously need to keep playing positive football though, they didn’t win tonight because of the mythical “grind”.

MATCH REPORT: Resurgent Canberra Raiders stun Manly Sea Eagles with epic 26-24 comeback win

Canberra have completed a remarkable comeback, overturning a 20-point deficit to upset Manly 26-24 and breathe life into their NRL season. Trailing 20-0 after 30 minutes on Friday night - a week on from a 40-0 home loss to Cronulla - the Raiders needed a response at Brookvale Oval.

And the inspiration came in the shape of veteran captain Elliott Whitehead, who was the unlikely hero for the Raiders, rolling back the years as he set up one try and scored two more.

'One hell of a win': Raiders pull off unbelievable upset over Manly

The Green Machine pulled off one of their greatest, and most unlikely of comebacks against the Manly Sea Eagles, winning 26-24 in a Round 9 NRL encounter that was the definition of a Friday night thriller. A week after being thrashed 40-0 on their home turf, the Raiders travelled to Brookvale and were down 20-0 after 28 minutes and 24-6 after 50 minutes against a top-four side. But they fought back and came away with a stunning upset.

"What we performed last week wasn't us. We had to show what our real DNA was and that was one hell of a win," coach Ricky Stuart said post-game. When I walked out of that shed at half-time I knew we were still a chance."

CANBERRA RAIDERS 26 (Elliott Whitehead 2, Kaeo Weekes, Nick Cotric, Hudson Young tries; Kaeo Weekes 3 goals) defeated MANLY SEA EAGLES 24 (Reuben Garrick 2, Tom Trbojevic, Tommy Talau, Daly Cherry-Evans tries; Reuben Garrick 2 goals)

Great win, but we really cannot play Levi and Hoppa anymore.

And I'm leaning that way with Guler as well. Hope Horse is back for the Canterbury game.

It was the ten minutes before Hoppa went off that was the problem.

Yeah totally. When one sides complete at 80% in the pouring rain and the other at 88%, you just know it must have been a clown show :doubt:

Let's not get carried away. We didn't get the rub of the green from the ref, but Manly were ordinary. Nevertheless a great win away from home!
It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"

Maybe under the new 2024 interpretation of surrender tackles then Hudson is the smartest guy on the field.

Least experienced halves in comp versus most experienced
Down by 20 nil and realistically was 60 nil in their last 100 min of football
Playing at Brookey in pouring rain
Player in sin bin
Lost penalty count 9-3…..

And. We. Win. Even though it wasn’t for a finals spot etc…has to be objectively one of the greatest raiders wins of all time.
Well done Sticky and all the boys. Up the milk!

I didn't think Tom played that well except for a 10 min period in the 1st half
