To a degree yes. If it is the occasional flogging then that’s fine and it happens. But you also don’t want young guys exposed to continual losses by a heavy margin. I would say that is counterproductive.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:27 pm I'd rather lose like this with a young team than get flogged last year by the likes of Manly, Newcastle etc with slow and old players like Jarrod Croker and Whitehead in the team

to be honest Im not upset with the result because I know the team will want to bounce back, every team has a bad game, I am however upset about the Fog injury, I guess its 6. Weekes, 7. Strange
Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
Rough night but they had a dig in the second half. Fog out for the year means they need to go full rebuild, which might be good in the long run.

Be an interesting team list Tuesday this week I think. Whitehead will be back for the experience if he is ready. Hoppa will come back in. The halves situation will be interesting- Weekes I imagine?

NRL Physio reckons depending on where the tear is Fog could either be out 3-6 weeks or 3-4 months. Either way it’s enough to completely **** our season.

Who was that? I don’t think he is ready yet. He is trying hard and he has talent and I’ve been impressed with his effort (he certainly has heart) but it is a massive thing for a 18 year old to play first grade and continuously. He is not a big guy as well

Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
I'm not angry with that as we have a young team. It was always going to happen. I thought that Chevy was very brave and showed character. What I would like to see more of is what he offers in attack as I cannot tell from the two games so far. We can see what Strange offers in attack. They have played less than 10 games but some of our players who have played over 100 games over 5 clubs still don't show they are first graders. I thought Savage and Kris also tried hard.
What I am concerned about is all the possession we had in the first 15 min of the game but we couldn't convert it to points. You look at Broncos when they had a 3 v 3 in the second half and still scored. You can see teams like the Warriors have systems in attack.

Agree. It's NRL football, fans have to be able to critique performance whether the player is 18 or 38. No point pretending Stewart had a 9/10 when he clearly didn't.Canberra Milk wrote: ↑April 20, 2024, 9:28 pmThey're aren't many critical comments really, nobody put the line through him. From all reports, Adam Cook is the pick of the halves in NSW Cup. Plus he is an actual 7 - from what I’ve seen, he looks a lot more creative than Fogarty.

Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Game Day
Chevy showed good character but didn’t look ready at times in first half. Maybe the second half will be making of him.
Happy to win second half and show fight. Game was gone and we could have folded or fought. We fought so that’s a thing.
Weekes or Cook? That’s the real question now…

I think the jury is out on Trey Mooney and whether he is truly as good as people say he is on the GH forum. He looked slow and I didn't see him dominate in tackles. And I don't understand the fuss for Saulo as well - he gets dominated.
Conversely, Xavier Willison will be a star for the Broncos. He is a beast.

It can’t just be Strange, Weekes and Fogarty to cover three positions.
