Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
He cannot pick a second rower on the bench. I don't care which one he picks. Otherwise you'd think it's Kris straight in and I will cop Hoppa on the wing until he plays badly.
Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
Changes that should be made that i think will happen:
Hors and Kris for Saulo/Guler (dealers choice, its close enough that i wont argue the toss either way) and Cotric. Hors and Kris simply have to be in this football team, they are rep level footballers and we dont have rep level players in the squad they cant replace. Absolute no excuses for that one short of injury/suspension.
What should happen but wont - Ata in over Whitehead or Saulo/Guler, dont care really. Woolford in for Starling, Schiller/Asomua in for Hoppa
We're an OK team, we have something to work with here and a foundation to build off, putting a better 17 on the field will help. That was a tough game against a good team who were playing desperate. Im not overly worried about the loss. Just think there are some obvious places for improvement

That was a good performance against the Warriors. But they were without Egan, CNK, Dylan Walker and Niukore, all first graders. Their FB also failed his HIA. We should have beaten them. I think we would have if we had Kris, Horse, Schiller and Ata.

Whitehead was predictably way off the pace.
Cotric needs an extended stint in reserve grade to work on the game of a modern winger.
Hoppa is a winger and needs to be playing that position. He lacks the talent, positional awareness and creativity to be a Mr-fix-it.
Schiller is our most versatile up and coming reserve back IMO and I'd have him on the bench now Horse is back.
Mariota has more potential in the medium and long-term than Guler or Saulo and given we're not challenging for the title this year, we might as well have him gaining FG experience now.

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
Interesting that Ata is playing lock in NSW cup and Puru second row. Horse is pretty clearly out of the lock rotation at this point. Assuming they play like that and it's not just a minutes thing then it may indicate Ata is the backup lock ahead of Puru. Ata on the bench covering lock would also mean Smithies can give second row cover without sacrificing a middle.

In all seriousness, the 9 position is by far our biggest concern. The issue as well? There is literally no one in the market to go and get. It’s slim pickings for a hooker in this day and age across the whole league. And we don’t have anyone coming up either. It’s not promising.

How good would it be if an international hooker came on the market. Someone with over 100 NRL games under their belt but still young enough to suggest they might be on the rise. We can only dream.Regs Revolution wrote: ↑March 23, 2024, 4:56 pmGood one Red.RedRaider wrote: ↑March 23, 2024, 4:37 pmAccording to the media, Trump has had some experience in the hooker position.Regs Revolution wrote: ↑March 23, 2024, 11:17 am 1 Rapana

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews
Genuine question, Billy... And ill propose it two different ways and give you dealers choices
1. There are 17 starting hookers in this league. Where does Danny Levi rank amongst them for you?
2. There are 16 other clubs in the competition. Raiders aside, what other clubs do you think he'd start for?
