Pretty sure there was an article saying he could have represented either. Mum is Māori and absent father is Aboriginal but his Auntie has been teaching him about the Aboriginal culture.

How good would it be if he could switch sides at half time and represent both. That’d be fun

Could not be bothered watching
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Zahara Temara helps lead out the Maori team now, and the Indigenous team walks out onto the field alongside the Maori. It is wet, and there are not a lot of locals in the stand to watch this match.

Now for the cultural ceremonies. First the Indigenous team, then the haka from the Maori team.

Don't forget, this match is live on GEM and Fox League.

Joe Tapine leads out the Maori team, and they walk out alongside the Indigenous All Stars. It is very wet, still. And the crowd is not great. Lots of the crowd is not under cover, but there are plenty of seats under the roofline that are unoccupied.

The cultural ceremonies are next. First the haka. Trey Mooney and Matt Timoko looking very fierce. Sensational stuff as the two teams advance and go head to head.

Indigenous team dominating so far, Trey Mooney got lined up but took the shot well, commentary blaming the kick on the slow play the ball was an early reminder of why i listen to games on mute.
Mooney strong in defence, holding blokes up and pushing them back
