That’s a good side. Probably the strongest centre pairing in the NRL.

Re: South Sydney Rabbitohs 2024
Campbell Graham has suffered a sternum injury , could be out for six months. Looks like Tass still has a centre spot.
Rabbitohs star Campbell Graham booked for surgery, facing huge stint on sidelines after injury complications
Rabbitohs star centre Campbell Graham will go under the knife and could miss half the season after his lingering sternum injury failed to heal this summer. Graham required a painkilling needle every game last season to keep the injury at bay and club doctors were confident it would heal naturally with rest after the season. However, his recovery hasn’t tracked as expected and he’ll now have surgery in Brisbane next week.

I like how we lose our marquee half to the Rabbits and are unable to replace him, then the Rabbits who brought him literally just go out and buy another international half over the top of him.

That doesn't sound good at all for Demetriou.
Re: South Sydney Rabbitohs 2024
Seeing Furner might be tabbed to take over as the interim
If so it's a good chance for him to work with the likes of Jacky, Cody, Cooky, Koloamatangy and Latrelly

Rabbitohs terminate coaching contract of Jason Demetriou effective immediately
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have terminated the coaching contract of Head Coach Jason Demetriou today, effective immediately.
Following a meeting of the Football Club Board, in conjunction with club management, it has been decided that the Club needs to go in a new direction with its coaching following a less-than-satisfactory series of results over the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Rabbitohs CEO, Blake Solly, said: “The Board and management feel that now is the time to make a change to the leadership of our football program in terms of the head coaching role.
“There is no doubting Jason’s work ethic or his drive for success, but unfortunately that success has not been forthcoming over the past 12 months.
“We wish Jason, his wife Natalie and his daughters the very best of luck in the future and we thank him for his service to our Club over the past five-and-a-half years.”
Ben Hornby will take control of the team as Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Re: South Sydney Rabbitohs 2024
Jack has probably been Souths best but that's more a reflection on how poor everyone else has been.
Re: South Sydney Rabbitohs 2024
I just love that Souths fans don't seem to realise how bad their roster is. They assume because they are a "big club" they can fix it all with cash. Nowhere have I ever seen any discussion of what their cap situation might be, or why they might be overpaying for hacks - except on the Rugby League Eye Test, which points out why they are full of, in footy terms, ageing hacks.
But then Souths fans generally lack at least tow things... brains and teeth.

a real lack of self awareness in souths land, biggest cap grubs as far as I'm concerned.Lui_Bon wrote:I just love that Souths fans don't seem to realise how bad their roster is. GI medical retirement then played in super league, SBurgess medical retirement plus $350k a year non specified admin role for 3 years wanted to play super league, Wighton squeezed in on unders because he is a centre now picked in halves and suddenly have cash for Lewis Dodd despite extending players and losing nobody.

Club statement
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to be welcoming back Wayne Bennett as the Club’s Head Coach for the next three seasons from 2025 onwards.
Bennett is regarded as one of the greatest coaches of all time, having coached over 900 games with NRL Clubs and over 1100 first grade and representative games since the 1970s, claiming seven premierships with the Broncos and Dragons, as well Grand Final appearances with the Rabbitohs and Raiders. He also won a premiership with Brisbane Souths in 1985 and six State of Origin series with Queensland, most recently in 2020.

The Rabbitohs wish Coach Bennett the best of luck for the remainder of the 2024 season. Out of respect for him and his current club, the Dolphins, the Rabbitohs won’t make any further comment until he completes his duties with the Dolphins and resumes coaching at South Sydney.
