Re: 2023 Pacific Championships Finals: Teams and Game Day
Hard to see NZ being competitive with the same side as last week against an Australian side which on paper appears to be stronger with Haas and Tino back.
Re: 2023 Pacific Championships Finals: Teams and Game Day
Doesn’t look to be many tickets sold at all.
Re: 2023 Pacific Championships Finals: Teams and Game Day
NZ stronger at hooker with Fa'manu Brown named ahead of Keiran Foran. Levy no longer in the NZ top 20.
The all Queensland bench looks very strong for Australia. No let up in pressure when any of those players come on.

The venue listed in the first post for the Mens final between the Kangaroos v Kiwi's incorrect and is not in Melbourne. It is in Waikato Stadium in Hamilton NZ.

Nah, I went to East Hills Boys High School where you could not play sport if the length of your hair touched your shirt collar. Deputy Principal Smith referred to such people as 'cream puffs and fairies' and you were not allowed to represent the school with long hair. Telling on other people was called 'dobbing' and any of that was worth 4 cuts of the cane so you sorted stuff out yourself. Talking in line was worth 6 cuts of the cane. But thanks for allowing my walk down memory lane. Just like Rugby League things have changed, TW.-TW- wrote: ↑November 3, 2023, 1:53 pmYou were the kinda person to snitch to the teacher if they'd forgot the exam weren't you?RedRaider wrote:The venue listed in the first post for the Mens final between the Kangaroos v Kiwi's incorrect and is not in Melbourne. Absolutely diabolical crowd in attendance at Waikato Stadium, 15 minutes out from kick off, with the teams about to complete their warm ups.

The tewo teams head out onto the field, side by side. It is indeed a terrible crowd, even on the western side of the field. The seats in the sun are virtually empty. There couldn't be more than a couple of thousand people there.

Now for the national anthems. The size of the crowd is an absolute embarrassment to rugby league. The haka is over, no face to face confrontation.
The Kangaroos kick off, we are underway.

15th min TRY NEW ZEALAND to Ronaldo Mulitalo in the corner. He made a great break down the sideline, then took a huge, looping pass from Brown on an ensuing play. Great try. Converted from the sideline by Jamayne Isaako.

How does Tapine not earn more six agains from the refs? Opponents obviously try to slow his play the ball but it’s absolutely ridiculous sometimes.
Even as an Australian fan I’m wondering how Carrigan got away with that one a few minutes ago. And it’s something we see regularly.

38th min ERROR AUSTRALIA from Harry Grant, first chance the Kangaroos have had in the red zone for a long time. The Kiwis have had almost 60 per cent of the ball.

Australian Kangaroos 0
Bit of a dust up after the half time hooter. Caused by Yeo pushing NAS and/or saying something Nelson didn't like.

Teams head back onto the field for the second half. The Kangaroos really did look like they were asleep in the first half. The intensity was terrible from them. Kiwis kick off. Back underway.

48th min TRY NEW ZEALAND to Ronaldo Mulitalo. Stunning try in the corner off the scrum play, great pass Hughes. They are looking at it again. It's a try alright! The ball just goes down on the grass before it touches the sideline, in goal. Isaako can't convert from the sideline.

I've seen bigger crowds outside Aldi
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

10 mins to go PENALTY NEW ZEALAND with Australia offside. It's hard to see how Australia can get out of this. The Kiwis really deserve victory. A shame so few New Zealanders bothered to turn up.
