MATCH REPORT: Bati party in PNG with big win over Kumuls



Fiji Bati produced a clinical performance to stun the Papua New Guinea Kumuls 43-16 in Port Moresby on Sunday. With Maika Sivo and Kurt Donoghue both claiming a double at Santos National Football Stadium, the Bati blew the game open early in the match with the Kumuls unable to match the visitors speed and class in attack.

However the Kumuls refused to lie down despite the scoreline, orchestrating two tries late in the second half to keep the passionate PNG faithful on their feet.

NRLW upside to 'terrific' Canberra Raiders internationals



Coach Darrin Borthwick was ecstatic with the efforts of his Jillaroos and Kiwi Ferns players in the Pacific Championships, especially fullback Apii Nicholls - who was player of the match in the New Zealand Test win.

"She performed really well for us, but has obviously continued that for New Zealand. She played with a lot of confidence in NRLW and you can definitely see that carried over. Defensively, she was terrific. Her defensive levels went up a hell of a lot and just her willingness to compete."
