I'm assuming that Brailey's father was a hooker who lacked talent or wasted an opportunity and he has lived vicariously through his sons. Three of which have come through the Sharks system as hookers. Incredible if this younger one is actually related.

Last round: The Canberra Raiders produced a big 30–4 victory over Cronulla at Shark Park on Easter Sunday afternoon. A Regan Carr double inside the first 15 minutes gave the Green Machine an early 10-0 lead. And they just built on that from there. Mitch Henderson crossed in the 20th minute, while a Jalen Afamasaga try delivered a 22 point lead to the visitors at half time.
The scoring slowed in the second stanza. Mitch Henderson landed a penalty goal in the 44th minute, and very quickly followed up with a converted try. It took the Sharks until the 64th minute before they could produce points - a consolation try to centre Talanoa Penitani. The win means Canberra has been undefeated over the opening month of the competition - and they have retained their place on top of the ladder.
This round: The Raiders host the Parramatta Eels at Raiders Belconnen. It is a surprising venue, given that the Raiders meet the Eels in NSW Cup and the NRL Premiership at Canberra Stadium later in the day. The Eels are coming off a 24-22 loss to the Wests Tigers at Cabramatta on Easter Saturday. The Eels led 22-4 at the 40 minute mark, but the Tigers came from behind, scoring four straight tries in the final 20 minutes. Tigers second rower Zakauri Clarke got the match winner with just over two minutes left. Parramatta have yet to record a win in 2024.
Team news: The Raiders' starting XIII is unchanged from last week. Shaun Packer, Tahrell Feaveai and Jayden Ford are all out, with Peyton Jenkins, Jack Anderson and Jordan Chapman coming in on the bench.

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg
We are obviously playing well in Flegg - who is a realistic chance of making the grade?
Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg
Maybe the blokes with first grade deals.
Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg
Why are you trying to be a smart ****?
I know of two who have development deals in Noah Martin and the front rower Case who I saw in that trial.
I was wondering if anybody who had seen Jersey Flegg would offer up any insights as to who else to look out for? They might offer up others who have some potential
Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg
Centre Regan Carr is a player to watch. I’ve just put the highlights from Cronulla in this week’s preview and his first two tries are characteristic. Real first grade potential. The other centre Siamani Leuluai is a prospect too, while winger Kane Rushton has speed and a bit of power.
Hooker Owen Pattie has the potential to be a very good first grader, he’s a real star at this level. The halves, Mitch Henderson and Jalen Afamasaga are also good at this level. Always a bit hard to tell with young halves though.
Vena Patuki-Case and Noah Martin in the forwards already mentioned. Not seen a lot of Patuki Case yet. He basically missed all of last season, but he’s got a good reputation and so far I can see why. Noah Martin I’m very impressed with.

I agree with Noah Martin in that trial. Had a lot of aggression.
I noticed that Regan Carr is scoring a lot of points. It is good to see some good young backs coming through.
There are a few spots available in first grade and backs are something that good clubs can fill internally.
Spine positions and forwards are usually those which you are more likely to source externally because it just takes longer for them to develop.

Vena Patuki-Case is the injured Raider. He’s made his way the bench with assistance. Cant put any weight on one leg. Can get around on crutches. Lower leg in a brace, it’s not his knee.

67th min TRY RAIDERS to Regan Carr. Henderson puts up the bomb, Jesse Limon chases and wins the contest for the ball… and throws a brilliant pass to Carr. Great try. Henderson can’t convert from the sideline.

Vena Patuki-Case played half a game last year, before being injured. A suspected fracture now... how unlucky can one player be? Another long recovery...

Last round: The Canberra Raiders Jersey Flegg team remains undefeated and on top of the table after beating the Parramatta Eels, 22–16, at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday afternoon.
The Green Machine struggled to put things together in the greasy conditions early in the game - and were unable to convert good possession and territory into points. The Eels scored first through winger Zac Hunter in the 19th minute. But the Green Machine took control late the first half when they scored two tries in the space of three minutes. First, Tahrell Feaveai crossed near the posts, after a nice pass from hooker Owen Pattie put him into a gap. Then in the 32nd minute, the Eels failed to defuse a Raiders bomb - and winger Kane Rushton was in perfect position to gather up the ball and head to the try line.
The Raiders took a 12-4 lead to the half time break - and extended their lead in the 48th minute when Owen Pattie made a quick scoot out of dummy half, scoring under the posts. The Eels kept themselves in contention with a try to fullback Te Hurinui Twidle five minutes later. The Eels fought hard to breach the eight point gap in the final stages. But the Raiders put things beyond doubt with just under five minutes remaining. Another big Mitch Henderson bomb was regathered brilliantly by winger Jesse Limon, who then passed to centre Regan Carr for the four pointer. It was the try of the match.
The Eels got some consolation from a final minute try to Te Hurinui Twidle, his second of the afternoon. The Raiders gifted the visitors the late opportunity, after the Eels attempted a short kick off - and the Raiders touched the ball before it could travel 10 metres. The final score was closer than it really should have been.
The Raiders had a 55 per cent share of possession and completed at 85 per cent (Eels 67 per cent). The Green Machine produced 150 more running metres than the Eels - and more line breaks (4-2) and tackle breaks (35-29) too. The Eels had a heavier defensive workload - and missed more tackles (35-29) and posted more ineffective tackles (10-7). Still, there was not much difference in the effective tackle rates of the two sides. Overall, the numbers were consistent with what was a tough contest.
This round: In Round 6, the Raiders host the reigning premiers, the Canterbury Bulldogs, at Raiders Belconnen. It is the second week in a row where the Raiders have turned down the opportunity to stage a triple header at Canberra Stadium. The Raiders meet the Dogs in NSW Cup and the Titans in the NRL at Bruce, later in the day.
The Bulldogs' scheduled Round 5 clash with the Roosters was washed out on Saturday - and has been postponed to a later date. They are coming off a 30-12 win over the Rabbitohs at Redfern in Round 4. Hooker Zaidas Muagututia scored two of the Bulldogs' five tries. They've also posted wins over the Eels (30-6) and Sharks (34-8).
Team news: Jake Clydsdale replaces the injured Vena Patuki-Case at starting prop, with Caleb Garvie coming in on the bench.

It’s definitely a huge blow for him, I know how hard my boy worked during that last injury to come back fit and strong, but as long as he stays in a good head space I’m sure he will bounce back bigger and stronger, the love and support he was shown last yr during that first injury cemented in stone why he chose to be a raider

plenty of time for him, the talent is obvious and the willingness also obvious from last year to the comeback and what he showed in the trial was impressiveAdam case wrote:It’s definitely a huge blow for him, I know how hard my boy worked during that last injury to come back fit and strong, but as long as he stays in a good head space I’m sure he will bounce back bigger and stronger, the love and support he was shown last yr during that first injury cemented in stone why he chose to be a raider

So Sandford going up maybe? or maybe Henderson with Weekes to fullback?

9th min TRY BULLDOGS to centre William Afualo. Almost goes the length. Three Raiders kept up but couldn’t get to him. They stopped the run around. Converted from the sideline by Cassius Tia.
Bulldogs 6-0
