Canberra Raider Emre Guler's Prime Minister's XIII pick-me-up has him aiming for higher honours

It's the PM's pick-me-up that helped wipe out his finals blues. Now Emre Guler's hoping it will launch his State of Origin and international careers.

"I'd love to. That's something you want to do is play Origin, play for your country so that's something I'd love to do," Guler said. "Plenty of hard work and sacrifices ahead and time will tell.

The role Warriors star Shaun Johnson played in Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad's resurrection

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad gives the credit to Warriors first-year coach Andrew Webster for making him a more complete player. In 2023, CNK has produced a career-high seven try assists - more than double his previous best.

"Webby's just really simplified my game for me and for me the simpler it is the better it is," he said with a cheeky laugh. "I've got a real minimalist job if you break it down and the confidence Webby gives me as well is massive, as well as my teammates around me."

23rd min TRY AUSTRALIA to centre Cassey Tohi-Hiku, it’s just the result of good individual running and dummying. Again no conversion, kicking into quite strong wind.

27th min TRY AUSTRALIA to Cassey Tohi-Hiku, her second. She made a break out wide and ran 60 metres to score, planting the ball under the posts. Converted Rueben Cherrington, who took over the kicking after the first two attempts. Australia has had virtually all the territory.

48th min TRY PAPUA NEW GUINEA to Ua Ravu! The Canberra Raiders hooker goes over from dummy half, nice dummy and the gap opens on the goal line. No conversion, the ball goes under the crossbar, from a relatively easy position.

MATCH REPORT: Whitfeld bags four in big win for Australian PM's XIII

Winger Jakiya Whitfeld ran in four tries as the Australian Prime Minister's XIII overcame their Papua New Guinea counterparts 56-4 on Saturday afternoon. Whitfeld, who spent this NRLW season with the Wests Tigers, scored a double in each half in an impressive showing which included running for over 200 metres.

While it was a comfortable win for the visitors in the end, it was a performance likely to have pleased PNG coach Ben Jeffries on the back of the Test side making it through to the World Cup semi-finals last year.

Fergus, why is there a CNK story in this thread?
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Australia looking like a side with limited training as a squad which is exactly what they are. Running into a strong wind in the 1st half too. I expect the Australians to use the wind to play most of the second half in the PNG end of the field. Australia lead 12-6 at half time and PNG starting to show signs of tiredness due to the pace of the game. From a Raiders point of view a good try to Hudson Young running back at an angle into a gap. I think we'll see some razzle dazzle from the Australians in the 2nd half.

What an incredible kick off from Papua New Guinea to start the second half... it was short, broke the 10 metres plane, then blew backwards 20-30 metres.
