That would be an odd signing, they have 3 really good ones from 18-20 already.

Absolute speculation. But if it is an out of the blue signing top tier junior I would have to guess a big 2nd rower like we've been chasing for years

My comment was mere speculation - who do we have on the books?

Xavier Cacciotti is an Australian Schoolboys and GE rates him as the best young hooker we have had in a long, long time. I haven't seen him play bur trust the captain.

Good to hear - any comments on our current Flegg hooker Owen Pattie?

Yeah. Pattie in Flegg and Brophy in Colts also looked really good when I watched them and I know GE rates them highly as well, who has seen a lot more of them.

Brophy is playing for NSW country under 18s on nswrltv this weekend if you wanted to watch him.

There’s also the 2022 QLD under 19’s hooker Shaun Packer coming off the bench in flegg.

At least the club recognises its an area of need. Hopefully one of them makes it. I miss prime Hodgo.

That’s funny to have two Simpson’s clips both featuring ex-GH members back to back (Guy Incognito and Snrub)

Finchy wrote: May 10, 2024, 11:35 pm If Bluesbrother, who's mates with Ricky, thinks Talagi is a better talent than Chevy, he's may not be basing that on a couple of games and may have watched both for a while. He might be wrong, he might be right.

Talagi certainly showed a lot of skill tonight. Let's reassess where they're both at in 12-18 months.

It's ok for other players to be better than ours. We don't have to get upset or emotional about it as if someone's bagging our own children when we think they're the bees knees.
Well Bluesbrother was not so long ago asking me who the junior hooker prospects at the club were. So, maybe Ricky doesn’t tell him everything. 😉

And maybe he hasn’t watched a lot of the lower grades either.

It’s sort of irrelevant.

I am just saying it’d be nice, before people make definitive calls on junior players after watching one game… that maybe they would like to think about it first. Or watch more than one game.
I watched Croker play 100’s of games and provided extensive statistics that supported my opinion that he was a mediocre centre. But that was an opinion that you didn’t agree with so took an approach the CCP would be proud of.

I think Chevy looks likes an outstanding young prospect and any criticism of him at this stage is rough. I also think people should be allowed to express their views and others shouldn’t be threatened by them or feel some weird obligation to defend their heroes.
Billy, you promulgated a load of rubbish about Jarrod Croker. Constant trolling. The statistics you relied upon were ridiculous. I’ll gladly call out such rubbish.

On the current subject, people are certainly allowed to express their views. But I’m also allowed to express my views… which principally is that it isn’t wise to make a definitive call on a young player on the basis of one or three NRL games. It’d be better to have watched the players, in lower grades, over time as well.
How, oh how did I miss GE call out Billy for his trolling

We haven’t heard a peep from Billy since Semi **** Valemi’s career ending performance on Sunday, have we?!

Looks like Sanders got dropped for Asi also.

In the time Moses has been injured they have jumped from Blaize to Asi to Sanders and back to Asi

Interesting report we have more young player signings on the way other than the Colonel. If they are NSW or Qld U/19s from last year then they will come from the below player list. Hopefully a backrow forward to replace retiring EW for next season, is on the wish list.

When Sticky mentioned this in the presser I assumed he was referring to Sanders and Mooney? Both are known but neither have been announced by the club.

He ran it quite a lot today and had two nice line breaks around half way which led to tries. One he popped up on the right and had a nice play with the five eighth to score. Set another try up with a short ball close to the line and had a couple of line break assists. He kicked pretty well but doesn't have a huge boot on him yet.

Ricky Stuart said it in the press conference after the Sea Eagles game.

I think it was the press conference when he re-signed.

His comments sounded like it was new signings, not re-signings. Used Chevy and Strange as examples of the strategy of bringing in young players and then said there's another couple that they will announce.

Also said they are still chasing a marquee player.

Correction, it was the press conference when Stuart's re-signing was announced.

We also know that one of the "signings we'd be announcing in the next few weeks" is Sanders and it's been in the bag for a while now and that hasnt officially been done yet, so i am hopeful that we might have another name to come with him when it does happen

A really good young backrower would be good. Either that or Blaize Talagi

I cant imagine it will be Talagi, he's got a lot of interest and i think we've made our bets in the areas he plays. I'd love to be wrong because no one would turn their nose up at a player of his talent.
But yeah a young stud backrower to come through with Noah Martin would be nice!

I don’t think it would be Blaize as well but that kid is going to be very good (if all things go to plan)

Yeah a backrower and a hooker are the pressing needs for the squad. We essentially need a slightly more mobile pack and a really creative dummy half

Apparently he's turned down an extension with Parra. If he hits the open market and the Roosters have about 5 billion to spend now, he's definitely Roosters material. Yay.

Politis currency. Much like 'Schrute bucks', or 'Stanley nickels' if you're a fan of The Office. Not sure on the conversion rate.
