Garrick at centre would be a grave mistake imo. Sort of diminishes all of his best qualities.

Should push for the 8

Without Des they lose some of their mongrel IMO.

I feel like Seibold will just confuse the team again with his complex game plans. It’s like trying to explain advanced maths to kindergarteners. Will end in sadness like the Broncos

Saab’s coming back from an ACL, surely that would be the only reason he’s not picked ahead of Tuipuluto.

Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks set to join Manly Sea Eagles

In a massive coup, Manly is poised to secure gun Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks. Brooks’ recruitment – joining incumbent Daly Cherry-Evans - will give Manly a world-class halves combination from next season.

He was on a whopping deal worth $1.15m this year at Wests Tigers. Brooks’ new deal at Manly could be worth around $2m over three seasons.

Exact kind of half he should play well next to. Schuster must be either moving on or heading back into the back row.

Sleepy Jake on too much, Schuster on same then they've got Olakau'atu who's clearly a weapon and the other backrower pretty decent too.

Wasn't there a big thing about him wanting to play 6?

Schuster? Yeah, that's why they moved Foran on. Him trying to play 6 this year might have caused a re-think from both sides. As I said the other option is to move him on.

Honestly, how do they put a squad together? Between DCE, Tommy and Jake there's 3 million. Schuster reportedly on 700-800k, now Brooks on close to that. That's generously 4.5 million on 5 of 30 players. The cap is 12 million, so 7.5 million on 25 players is an average of 300k per player. There's still 12 or 13 NRL wages from that 300k average. Olakatoa can't be cheap either.

This isn't just a manly thing either. It's either a gross misjudgement on player salaries or dodgy stuff is happening. Probably both.

Yeah you just don’t know how the contracts are laid out. Front end / back end deals make it interesting to work out how the books balance.

Schuster signs three-year extension to remain at Manly

Manly’s signing spree continues, with the club locking down rising playmaker Josh Schuster for another three years.

The news comes the day after the Sea Eagles announced the signing of Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks on a four-year deal, meaning Schuster’s future on the peninsula appears to be in the back row. He informed the club of his decision late on Monday night. The deal is believed to be worth $2.4 million over three seasons.

I’m presuming Schuster signed this days ago, unaware of the Brookes signing. Manly have played their recruitment well.

I’m not sure that paying Schuster $800k/season is playing it well.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

He's not worth that much but good on him for getting it. He's less consistent than Fifita was pre 2023. I don't know how they can afford 4 players on a million plus? DCE winding up soon I guess.
