If the numbers work I'd take Dave for sure

that’d be one way to solve the edge forward problem

That's a real thought bubble from Brent Read. Not much substance behind it.

Fifita... that's interesting. At the right price and used correctly I think he'd move the needle for us.

Fifita on the right money would be sensational.
Could care less about the NRLW player (or the team tbh) *cue abuse.

well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Have you seen the NRLW player? He’s punching so hard

I don't think you know what that means.

Punching? Batting out of his league? Not as good looking as his missus? What am I not understanding here?

Elliot gone, Whitehead shot - sign me up.

In. The guy scored 17 tries in 2021 while being criticised for not doing enough.
He's also only 22. Get him around Papa and Taps, and let Ricky bring out his best.
If we've got anywhere near the cash to do it, we should go all in. Otherwise the cap space will be wasted.

Re: Canberra Raiders interested in David Fifita?
I know mulholland had previously said that he was the most promising junior he has ever seen. Ricky is a specialist for getting the most out of his forwards. This could be a super move for both parties
Re: Canberra Raiders interested in David Fifita?
Seems very pie in the sky and i find it hard to beleive the raiders have the money for him but it would be cool
Our pack would be very scary with him in the Whitehead position

Re: Canberra Raiders interested in David Fifita?
Like everyone, also would go D Fifita at the right price, but unfortunately what I consider right price would be quite a considerable pay cut from what he's on now. It'd be less than Tapine money

Re: Canberra Raiders interested in David Fifita?
Look he’s no Andrew Fifita…. And isn’t that a good thing. Clear house, have a fire sale, do what you need to in order to make it happen.
My guess is Titans have overpaid and know they can’t get there with no free cash. They will need to pay freight and we need to be careful not to over pay ourselves. Get it done.
Not like we have massive $$ in the spine so yeah we should have free cash. I fear the Croker and Whitehead deals mean we don’t get this.

I'd wet myself if we signed David Fifita
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

He would have to learn how to defend on an edge or they are planning for him as a 13.

Always out injured. Over rated. Can't kick. He missed a tackle once and I've seen him drop the ball. Good players don't do that. They grow out of it by the time they are 19.Robert the Bruce wrote: ↑October 13, 2022, 11:21 pm This reminds me of 1986 when we signed Mal Meninga

Besides, we already have heaps of centres. We could possibly convert him into a 2nd rower but we already have Fifita there. That's a no from me.

Re: Canberra Raiders interested in David Fifita?
As Raiders fans we do need to temper our expectations in regards to signings. BUT.... If we can turn Milliott into Davylee, then CALI-RIPPER!!!!
Rick got Dave Taylor fit and ready to rumble, before injury cruelled him, and there isn't a better comparison of players to Difi.
I wouldn't want to be carrying that 1.2mill salary, coz while he SHOULD be worth that, as Coal Train before him, his past 2 seasons haven't produced it. A Tapine type 800-850k salary is probably as far as I'd go, but if it was to happen for '23, Titans would need to be willing to kicking in the difference.
The other thing to remember, we currently dont have $$$ in the spine - Savage only just above rookie, Woolford, Starlo, Trev and now Levi would be on low wages, Fog is on unders, only Jack is on 'spine money'. This is very different to most teams. We play our game through the middle. Add in some more pack potency, and I think that suits the way this team is built.

The trouble is, teams built like that don’t win premierships.

He rivals Danny Weidler as a massive suck when it comes to the players, especially Queenslanders (who can do no wrong).
I'd be amazed if this is anything other than 1 + 1 = 17 thought bubble too.

Sounds like he is constipated.
A complete bias qlder

Think Brangelina...
Milliott = Mille Boyle and Adam Elliott
Davylee = Dave Fifita and Shaylee Bent
Cali-ripper is a Scrubs (TV series) thing. Means very happy.
