Tigers scored two tries on the left tonight.
I don't think we are capable of doing that twice in 80m.

Watching Newcastle last night... think Milford would be great for us. We should have chased him hard.

We still could
He's totally lost his twinkle toes but he passes better than both our halves, his short kicking is good
He's playing like how many of us thought Fogarty would: a good solid all-rounder half
Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Milf is the worst defensive half in the comp though... I don't think it's a good bet.

Not sure why Milford is being discussed in the Storm game preview thread.

Hilarious list of rules in Canberra Raiders’ inner sanctum lays down the law for players getting physio - and one star comes in for some very special treatment
In the depths of the Canberra Raiders' club quarters lies a hilarious list of rules for a physio room that has seen and smelt it all - but a snapshot shows one star could have been just a little too comfortable in treatment.

Don’t know if I’d describe those rules as hilarious. More aptly described as a few fairly basic points about basic human respect and decency that you’d hope wouldn’t need to be stated.
Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews
Halfback Brad Schneider full on to take Canberra Raiders place again
Brad Schneider didn't expect to be playing halfback for the Canberra Raiders in first grade in Round 1 this year. He didn't expect to go on to play 10 games. But all that changed following a Jamal Fogarty injury.
“I didn’t expect to play in round one, but to get the gig and to play a few games this year has been awesome,” Schneider said. “The coaching staff and the rest of the playing group had full confidence in me and I knew that. I got a lot of confidence from it and I am looking forward to getting back out there again.”

The Canberra Raiders have named their team for the round 18 match against the Melbourne Storm on Sunday afternoon. James Schiller returns to the 17 from a shoulder injury on the bench replacing Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, in the only change to the team which played the Dragons in Round 16 before the Round 17 bye.

Melbourne Storm is set to welcome back Cameron Munster and Felise Kaufusi for the Sunday afternoon showdown with the Canberra Raiders. Munster has been named pending his recovery from a bout of COVID which ruled him out of tomorrow night’s State of Origin decider for Queensland, while Kaufusi has returned from personal leave after spending time with his ill father in the United States. With Munster in the No.6 role, Nick Meaney returns to the wing with Grant Anderson (elbow sprain) dropping out of the 22.
Kaufusi has been named in the starting pack, pushing Chris Lewis back to the extended bench. Lewis is also currently in isolation following a positive COVID test after the last-start loss to Cronulla. Queensland Origin star Harry Grant takes over the No.9 jersey from Brandon Smith who has not been selected ahead of his judiciary appearance this evening. Fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen will make his first appearance at home since the win against the Dragons in round nine.

Sutton at 13 - le sigh.
We're going to try and grind Melbourne aren't we? It's just so crazy it might fail spectacularly.

Ok what on earth is going on with CHN?
If we had a second row in irresistible form and they simply couldn’t be dropped, you’d understand a player of CHNs ability needing to bide his time in reserves.
But we are in losing form and the person standing in his way is Whitehead, who on current evidence looks like a contender for the worst 2nd rower in the NRL.

I am just baffled by the continued selection of an outside back on the bench who’ll be lucky to get five minutes on the pitch.
Adam Elliot or CHN can cover centre in an emergency if there’s an injury. It’s absolutely mindbendingly idiotic to waste a bench spot every week in case we lose a back to injury.

It's not like he'd actually use the player if there was a forward in that spot. That forth spot is literally never rotatedTimbo wrote:I am just baffled by the continued selection of an outside back on the bench who’ll be lucky to get five minutes on the pitch.

Ricky is a stubborn git that never learns from his mistakes. Expect us to compete well in the first half and then we are gassed in the second, with his blue eyed boy Whitehead leading the way for penalties and missed tackles. Ricky is too smart for us and we are just dumb fans - taking losses year after year, putting up with nonsense and then his eloquent press conferences at the end.

Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
I dont know about being happy to see him go, i think in a perfect world he'd have liked to have Smith at #13 and Grant at #9 for the long haul talent wise but he wanted to play hooker so they had to pick
but certainly i think they're feeling good about picking Grant over Smith. Which is the right call on talent and footballing ability but once you add the other stuff Cheese brings to the table, they definitely made the right call

I agree Red - good footballer but not the right fit for a disciplined Melbourne setup. I actually think if the price is right they will also let Munster walk for the same reason and use the coin to upgrade.

Fogarty is not much better
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Grant a far better dummy half. Smith's service is actually quite ordinary. He's much better at bashing it up the middle.Botman wrote: ↑July 12, 2022, 7:36 pm I dont know about being happy to see him go, i think in a perfect world he'd have liked to have Smith at #13 and Grant at #9 for the long haul talent wise but he wanted to play hooker so they had to pick
