Form an XI (I'm assuming not enough left for a XVII) of whoever RadicalRaider hasn't sacked tonight and let 'em rip.
Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
Raiders by 8, we will have good luck and knights will have bad luck, and so another false dawn starts again.

Tom Starling should not be in the team. If Woolford can't play 80 minutes, have Trevilyan on the bench.

I’d leave Whitehead and Starling out. CHN didn’t make a strong case for a recall either

Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
We’ve put ourselves in a real difficult spot. We need to win 7 or 8 of our last 10 games to make the top 8 (28/30 points). 2 of them are against Storm and Panthers, so let’s just write them off. The rest is a soft draw, and I’d argue are all winnable games. But with this team, we’re likely to **** the bed.
Despite that, whilst we are still in with a slim shot, you’ve got to roll with your best 17.
If Stick made the call on Croker, not sure why he can’t make the call on Whitehead. Our cap is a mess because of those 2, but it’s about results, so have the $ on the sidelines.
I’d go with:
1. Xavier Savage
2. Nick Cotric
3. Sebastian Kris
4. Matthew Timoko
5. Jordan Rapana
6. Jack Wighton
7. Jamal Fogarty
8. Josh Papalii
9. Zac Woolford
10. Joseph Tapine (c)
11. Hudson Young
12. Corey Harawira-Naera
13. Adam Elliot
14. Adrian Trevilyan
15. Ryan Sutton
16. Harry Rushton / Trey Mooney
17. Corey Horsburgh
If we’re out of finals contention, I’d stop playing both Elliot and Sutton.

The 2020 match versus Newcastle was the start of Whitehead's decline. Ponga gave him an absolute bath.

Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
We lacked polish and a good kicking game. We forced a couple of dropouts but we need to take advantage of them having 14 men.
This would be my side:
1. Savage (Made some errors but made 2 line breaks, if he could’ve found a pass that’s an extra 8-12 points).
2. Cotric (A mediocre performance for me, scored a good try and broke some tackles but didn’t have enough spark).
3. Timoko (He’s improving by the week and looks like he’ll be our long-term right centre, he made a break from pure strength down the middle a shame we couldn’t convert that opportunity into points).
4. Kris (Had a bit of a up and down night in defence and didn’t do much in attack).
5. Rapana (Schiller did a quality job replacing him but we missed his unpredictable down the middle at the start of our sets and having him and Cotric as a 1-2 punch).
6. Wighton (Tried his heart out as usual but didn’t run the ball enough, and seemed to pass well before contact, maybe he shouldn’t have backed up?).
7. Fogarty (He made a number of errors but also forced some repeat sets, had some nice kicks and ran the ball close to the line a couple of times).
8. Papalii (He must be carrying some sort of injury, he played 29 minutes last night and 22 for the maroons on Wednesday, only a fortnight ago he was getting through 40-50 a game.
9. Woolford (By far our best option at 9, when Starling came onto the field yesterday we lossed that manipulation in the ruck and that hard sticking defence, I think that it’s time for Starling to head back to NSW cup for a bit, with either Schneider or Treviliyan coming on the bench.
10. Tapine (Far out isn’t he a beast. Re-sign him asap).
11. Young (He’s developing into a Bateman-like back rower and is in insane form).
12. CHN (He didn’t really provide much off the bench but i think he’s a better option than Whitehead, he’s more agile and would be better in attack).
13. Elliott (Man I wish we could’ve re-signed him, he’s been playing exceptional over the past 3 or so weeks).
14. Schneider (I think Woolford can play close to 60 or so minutes now, Starling seems to change the play we play and it doesn’t suite the rest of the team. Schneider just nips Treviliyan for me as I think sticky will go for a more vestile player if Starling isn’t in the 14).
15. Sutton (He’s been playing well of the bench for a couple weeks now, if needed he can pump out big minutes as well).
16. Mooney (Didn’t get many minutes in his debut, I’d love to see him get another opportunity of the bench).
17. Horsburgh (One of his best performances of his career, up until his error in the dying minutes. He ran 176 metres, made 4 tackle busts in 49 minutes. He’s slowly making his case for an origin birth).

Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
Young and CHN are both rocks or diamonds. Young with the better ratio of diamonds recently but he reverted to a couple of headless chook moments last night too.
Whitehead is the consistent one, but he's now consistently below an average NRL second rower. We just have a really bad mix of candidates in the second row. We can afford to carry one of the erratic duo in Young and CHN, but when we carry both you have moments like last night when Young stunts your attack by running sideways, doing a pirouette and submitting in a tackle. Then 5 minutes either side CHN drops a regulation catch in the opposition 20.
Adam Elliott has become the bright spark in our backrow rotation. He doesn't ballplay like the elite locks in the game do but he rips in with ball in hand, makes few errors and defends well. He knows his limitations, Young and CHN seem slow to learn theirs. Young is improving though.

Sezer is better than SWilliams, Schneider, and Fogarty all rolled together.

Do SOO players play in this one?
Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
Well the Knights are 26-0 down to Penrith at halftime. Is everyone prepared for us to lose to this rabble next week? We’ll be up at halftime, only to have yet another scoreless second half and get run down.
Can people please not say how confident they are that we’ll beat them this week? I’m telling you, it’s the kiss of death. We need to be underdogs to actually win.

Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Teams and Previews
Ponga loves playing us. We're the flatest of flat tracks
I would name a team but the changes i'd want dont have a hope or prayer of being named by the coach so who cares
I expect the team will be largely unchanged from the Broncos game save for Jordy Raps coming back in for Schiller. Just need a bit of luck against the knights i guess.

Kikau knocked ponga out pretty hard today. If Newcastle are serious I’d suggest he needs to sit a week out after a knock like that.Botman wrote: ↑June 12, 2022, 7:25 pm Ponga loves playing us. We're the flatest of flat tracks
