Wish I was at the presser so I could ask Whitehead when he will return from injury and be available for selection?

In the second halves we were (and commonly are) the NRL equivalent of a Benny Hill skit. No one has any idea where the others are running or passing. I'm going to put Yakety Sax on loop next week and have myself a giggle.

At risk of scapegoating individuals I think a lot of our problems in the last 20 mins came from Starling. He kept holding the ball and running around at dummy half. It was disrupting any structure we may have had. What we needed at the back end of the game and Starling was completely lacking it. We needed Woolford back out there.

Whitehead looks like a con artist talking about effort in the presser

These guys realise who they had out yeah? This wasn’t bad luck

It was PISS poor excecution

We would be better off with T Barrett or McGuire and that’s not a lie

Yep. So relieved to watch that presser. It was just that we had no luck.

Guess he completely forgot about 4 of their rep players being out and another three players getting injured mid-game. That sounds pretty lucky to me, from a Raider's perspective.

Sorry to say but Papa, as much as I love him, is no longer a top tier prop. It is what it is
I tend to agree. He's been passed by Tapine in our side as the number 1 prop

To be fair, just about every prop in the game has been passed by Tapine this season. He's in rare form.
I think the point more is papalii has not been quite the same level as past seasons in my view at least

I know this place likes to fly off the handle but Papalii has had 1 quiet game for the Raiders. I don't think it's time to put him out to pasture yet.

Look Papa is on the slide by elite NRL standards but there is daylight between him and Hors. I hope Hors and others pass him and take us to another level but that is a crazy call at this stage.

I'm inclined to agree a bit. Woolford's passes from dh seem to be a lot faster and dare I say it more purposeful. I was thinking tonight that we have a chief dummy half and a 20 minute backup, and the team has got them backwards.

speaking of which, that, I guarantee, will be the best game Billy Walters ever plays in his entire ***** life, the scuzzbag.

Anyone who has suggested that is an idiot. Still our second best prop although I don't agree he's had one quiet game to me he's been a little bit off all year. I still love him but we've come to rely on him so much and to be honest his output just hasn't quite been at the same level

He’s sitting next to the greatest con artist of all. That man has convinced 4 clubs over 2 decades to pay him a lot of money, despite very little evidence that he actually understands the game from a coaching perspective

It honestly felt like we made the wrong decision at every single critical juncture.

When it was time to run, we would pass.

When it was time to pass, we would run.

When it was time to take the tackle, we would push an offload and drop the ball.

When the offload was on, we would take the tackle.

Just a mismanaged mess during the second half.

Broncos were absolutely there for the taking.

What is Ricky trying to achieve with his hooker rotation?

Starling's upside is that he can cause havoc against a tiring defence however it's 3 weeks in a row now where he has been brought on just after the break against what are no doubt rested opposition legs... surprise surprise he has phoned in those three weeks.

Concerns around Wighton too. Only 3 wins with him this season and there have been a number of games now where the chance has been there for a half to seize the moment and he fails to do so.

Fair enough he isn't the best prop in the game any more, but he has actually played really, really well this season. He was among the best on the park in the wins against the Sharks, Eels and Roosters, which is 3 of his last 4 games.

Spoke in another thread about the brief Tommy has said he gets when he comes on, quote "create chaos".

Cook -the best in the Starling business- mixes it up a little better. I think Starling can be a good benchy but even I was saying he was overdoing the running. Just because you _can_ doesn't always mean you _should_.

Tommy overcooked it. Fog should have been screaming for calm and the ball. Jack is not that guy.

Schiller made a bad defensive read or two but he produced a few decent plays. Was solid under kicks all night and that take on the run was next level. He ran hard and I don’t recall errors with the ball. He certainly wasn’t outstanding but he showed enough to suggest there could be something there. If the season is gone at some point I’d like to see him get a few games to see what is there.

Yes. And let's hope it's from Hors getting better, rather than Papa slipping.

Papa at even 75% of his best gets into most teams.
