Raiders reportedly interested in Herbie Farnworth

Post by Wiki Special »

This article reckons we are looking at Herbie Farnworth. He'd certainly be worth having a crack at.

Why the Dolphins must land this free agent

The most exciting young player coming off contract at the end of the season is Broncos centre Herbie Farnworth. The Eels and Raiders are interested in Farnworth but the Dolphins must pull out all the stops to get Farnworth across town to Brisbane’s new team.

This would actually be a good signing so no doubt we'll screw it up somehow.

I'm on board with this. Even when the Broncos were awful these past few years Herbie was consistently playing well. Fills a big gap for us too.

I'm on board with this but not as a fullback. I see him as a centre.

Cant see the Bronx letting him go.

Who else do they have on their books? Cobbo, Oates, Arthurs, Staggs, Martin...

Staggs is the only one better than him, which is arguable.

Doesn't seem much to the story, but he is certainly one of the better young centres in the comp. If true, I'm glad we're interested.

It's unfortunate we haven't been able to see HSS this season, so our depth in the centres has been really tested this year.

Raiders can eat corn on the cobb too, as long as someone cuts it off with a knife and mushes it into a fine paste
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Cobbo is the new Greg Inglis
If Greg Inglis low key kind of sucked

He’s certainly got some talent and athletic ability but I think he’s highly overrated at this point of his career

Nothing in his junior footy to indicate he low key kind of sucks. The only thing he's lacking is a couple years in first grade. Of course he is highly overrated at the moment with comparisons to Inglis.

Be a good upgrade in the back 5, wherever it may be.

Doesn't seem much to the Raiders link than mention the Raiders manager style shenanigans though.

If we do sign him there are some definite clauses that need to be included in the contract:

(A) the player shall grow a moustache that is waxed upwards at either end befitting of one with such a distinguished name.

(B) the player shall wear a monocle to all non training or playing events and carry a wooden tobacco pipe for the purposes of effect.

Get it done Don.

Good call Billy. About time we had a player who was chauffeured in a Bentley and not chauffeured in a paddy wagon.

I doubt we'll sign him. Probably just a strategy by his manager to get his price up.

Brisbane have re-signed exciting centre Herbie Farnworth on a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the Broncos until at least the end of the 2023 NRL season: https://www.nrl.com/news/2022/01/27/202 ... nrl-clubs/

Yep, someone to absolutely keep an eye on, depending on how well HSS recovers from his injury. They strike me as very similar players, with a focus on finesse over power, and HSS also seems to be an equally solid defender, although I haven't seen enough of Smith-Shields at that level to really comment.
