Jack Wighton suspended for two matches
Canberra Raiders five eighth Jack Wighton facing two to three week ban
Raiders five-eighth Jack Wighton is facing a two to three week ban for a grade two dangerous throw on Reece Walsh in Saturday's loss to the Warriors. If Wighton takes the early plea he will miss two matches. If he fights the charge and is found guilty he will miss three matches.
Warriors prop Matt Lodge (dangerous contact) faces a $1000 fine following contact with Corey Harawira-Naera.
Corey Horsburgh, who was put on report for a high tackle on Lodge, which produced a penalty goal and golden point, was not charged by the match review committee. Joseph Tapine was also put on report, but has escaped a charge.

Imagine this Canberra Raiders team without Jack Wighton
Jack Wighton has been dealt a grade-two charge. An early plea would to keep him sidelined for two matches and should he roll the dice and fight the charge and be found guilty, he'd cop three matches.

Garbage decision!
Surely you try to get this downgraded and plead guilty to a grade one and fine.
Unbelievable. Just about done with NRL and this BS.

The Raiders should fight that charge. The penalty for Lodge, in comparative terms, is ridiculous.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

We are getting bad decisions on the field and off the field now. That's ridiculous

Cop the ban…can only improve our chances of cannon firing Ricky as the L’s pile up..

I didn’t think it was that level of bad and dissimilar to plenty of other tackles we’ve seen this season. I’m with some others on the plead guilty to a grade 1 and try and fight it.
If it hadn’t occurred in the same round as the bad Manly one, I feel like it wouldn’t have got such attention.

Re: Jack Wighton facing two to three week ban
And what was the result of the Tarps and Hors decision that the bunker decided were “reportable” incidents which thereby result in a penalty ??

Re: Jack Wighton facing two to three week ban
You know exactly what the result was. It’s a disgrace. Anyone who doesn’t think for a minute that there is an uneven playing field in this comp is delusional. It just piles up week after week.
This doesn’t excuse our ineptness which currently is of a grand scale; but the state of the fairness across this comp is at an all time low imo

Imagine if Troy Thompson was still around. He could stamp out an entire forward pack for the next fortnight being picked up and driven like that multiple times a game.

We could be holding the spoon when he gets back. Newcastle are pretty terrible and 30 points behind, so it is unlikely.
