Pick the score is back for 2022!

Post by Smudge »

Greetings All.

Yep, it's back, but under new management. Turt has decided to have a rest from running it this season, so myself and Greenland will be running it this year. So, firstly, big thumbs up to Turt for crunching the numbers for the last few years. Top job mate and greatly appreciated!

This year, we're going to try and put together a prize package for first place (possibly 2nd and 3rd too). Probably won't be too exciting but gives you all something to play for, other than bragging rights.

Now, we're not making any radical changes, in fact the rules remain the same.
  • You are picking the score for the Raiders game each round.
  • All picks must be submitted prior to kick-off.
  • All picks must include scores for the Raiders and the opposition.
  • You must also nominate who you think will be the first try scorer in the game, from either team.
  • Your score pick must be unique. If you don't pick a unique score, your pick will be adjusted up by 1 for the home team. If an additional person also picks the same score, their score will be adjusted down by 1 for the home team. So, check other people's picks before you submit yours.
Scoring

The top 10 closest picks, that correctly selected the winning team, will be allocated points from 10 to 1. Closest pick gets 10 points, 2nd closest 9 points...etc.

If less than 10 people picked the winning team then the remaining points will be allocated to those who picked the losing team, based on their pick accuracy.

Closest picks are calculated on the difference from picked score to actual score for each team. Lowest difference wins.

8 bonus points for correctly picking the final score.
2 bonus points if your nominated try scorer scores the first try.
1 bonus point if your nominated try scorer scores a try but was not the first to do so.

That's it. Get in!

Please don't post your picks on this thread, wait for the 'Round 1 - Pick The Score' topic.

Put me down for Raiders 100 - Opposition 0 FTS Jordy Raps every game. I’m a certainty to win!
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
