Zane Dunford was captain of the Sea Eagles SG Ball team in 2021, the son of former Sea Eagles forward Matt Dunford (1990-1996, 81 games, hooker, second row, lock), has also played junior rugby union at Manly. Not a lot of other information out there. My guess is he’s at least Jersey Flegg eligible, if not SG Ball, listed as playing 2020 and 2021 SG Ball.

This on top of the Morkos signing from the Dragons shows that we are being pretty aggressive in recruiting young players who have stood out at the SG Ball level at other clubs. I like it.

paying overs for gun juniors is a solid approach, it's all a numbers game to rattle out the best kids into your top side

He's not in our lists... for this year anyway. Maybe something's gone awry.

He must be good. He is the only forward starting, apart from the hooker.

I spoke too soon. 2023 confirmed.

Raiders poach Sea Eagles young gun

Manly has lost one of its most promising young forwards to Canberra for 2023. Zane Dunford, whose dad Matt played nearly 100 games for the Sea Eagles in the 1990s, captained the club's SG Ball side last year and Manly were keen to keep him.

But the lure of a fulltime contract proved the difference as the 20-year-old edge back-rower signed a three-year deal with the Raiders.

Pretty poor showing from the sea eagles, feel bad for the guy named as reserve with so many empty spots not taken Image

Last gun Manly rugby junior we snared was Ben Kennedy
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
