Has Caleb Clarke been mentioned as a potential target. An all black and would be an absolute weapon in the centres.

I appreciate your point of view but disagree. I feel he is the type of effort player our side needs. And I'm still very high on Tago also. Both would be my top targets.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑April 23, 2022, 9:23 am I don't know about Martin. He actually played better in 2020. He's competitive, I like how he contests bombs, but then at times when I see him play he has a plodder average look about him.

We think we're too good for a lot of players who are better than our current starters'
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022
Yeah, but quite a few of those players on Matt’s list are terrible, at best, once were good.

The guy the Eels now have at centre?
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022
Be going for the bolded players. We really need some genuine edge players. Wingers should be up for grabs, Penrith usually overflowing there. I'd take Madden and turf Williams/Frawley and he and Schneider can both genuinely push for the next in line.Matt wrote: ↑April 30, 2022, 9:07 pm Here are some names off contract in the next couple of yrs.... yes, there are some hit and hopes:

People still overlooking Drinkwater after his recent form (and ours)... that'll do me
Anyway looking at that list, Joey was right, there's not enough talent for 16 NRL teams, let alone 17

Wouldn’t be silly to put an offer in front of te marie martin while his stocks are low. He’s been looking pretty good for the broncos and can play 1/2s or FB

It didn’t work out with Williams but I hope that hasn’t burnt the UK as a target.
The club wont ever be able to make many established NRL signings under a flat salary cap model. I don’t think they have signed a top 100 player in a long time and Tapine was probably the last borderline blue chip prospect. They have to fish where the others don’t.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022
Reality is none of these off contract players are going to offer anything more than an Adam Elliott mediocre style impact. Unless of course we secure a big name from somehwere. Players who are on the outer at their current club aren't going to do anything here either.
I feel our only real option is to go to the UK again and see what's on offer and to surround that with the youth we have here.
1. Savage
2. Rapana/New recruit
3. Timoko
4. HSS
5. Cotric/New recruit
6. Wighton
7. Fogarty
8. Papalii
9. Trevilyan/new recruit
11. New recruit
12. CHN
13. Rushton
14. Starling
15. Mooney
16. Horsburgh
17. New recruit/Young
Getting a quality 9 and second rower are priorities, whilst securing a centre or winger to put pressure on Rapa and Cotric who are pretty much phoning in would be handy.

Rapa needs to be done. The effort looks great, but the errors are piling up.
I love HSS, but that injury history means you can look at centres very seriously.
Cotrics contract isn't going to allow movement for a while. Given the way Rick is using his centres, I'd be happy to try the Cotric as a centre experiment should another winger come along. But he is part of our back 5 somewhere going forward.
I'd have the new recruit tag on Starlo, not Trev in regards to 9s. But new hooker is new hooker.
100% need some edges. Genuine edges, not these locks pushed wider BS.
Mooney needs to return to the middle. Looks lost on the edge. Mobile middle has been his go his entire career, and has been pretty good at it.
Young needs to play lock/mobile prop. Looks lost on the edge. Has been getting in Wightons way most of the yr.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022
We could easily bring in 3 or 4 English players with experience and be top 6 to 8 team. There are very few really good options in the nrl anymore that aren't contracted long term that we can realistically pick up.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022
Drinkwater and tago would be perfect for us in my opinion. Our forwards arnt that bad. It's the way they are being used, and their fitness is non existent. Hence why we are can't close out a game.
Our fitness and attack coaches should be sacked.
Look at how fit the cowboys are. That should be what we are trying to emulate. Horse and papa are a disgrace this year. I don't know how they keep saying this is the hardest pre season they have done when they turn up for round one in the shape they have. It's a disgrace.
