Martin would be a good signing.

Yeah, as much as I hate Penrith, the likes of Liam Martin would be a good addition to our squad. IMO Martin, Farnsworth and CHT would address 3 of the issues we have in our team (refreshing the roster as we eventually let go of Whitehead, Croker and Rapana).
We also need Rushton, Mooney or Esera to take the next step and hope that Fogarty can do his thing until we find a decent halfback.

I could get on board there. But CHT isn't addressing those 3 current guys, he solves the Sammy, Frawlz situationSeiffert82 wrote: ↑May 13, 2022, 11:17 am Yeah, as much as I hate Penrith, the likes of Liam Martin would be a good addition to our squad. How much cap space do you think we have tied in whitehead, Croker and rapana ??Seiffert82 wrote: ↑May 13, 2022, 11:17 am Yeah, as much as I hate Penrith, the likes of Liam Martin would be a good addition to our squad. It's not like for like. We have issues right across the park, except maybe front row.Matt wrote:I could get on board there. It's refreshing old players with younger talent and supplementing juniors with recruits.

Liam Martin has knocked back an offer from Penrith. I think he’d be a great pick up. A bit Batemanesque in the way he has a bit of mongrel about him.
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

He’s exactly the type of player we need. Successful organisation and a bloody mongrel. We have way too many passive forwards.

He’s from Temora which is closer to Canberra then Penrith. If he guarantee him a start on the edge and offer him around $600+ and surely he comes.

I also reckon Liam Martin would be a good addition to the Raiders. Hard as nails and relishes the tough stuff.
I know quality playmakers are hard to recruit but what a difference Adam Reynolds has made to the Broncos. I hope we have our hat in the ring when the next quality play maker comes onto the market. That would be Munster. We may not get him, but I hope we are in the market bidding hard. With the likes of Hodgo, Williams and Sutton (that we know of) leaving at the end of this year there should be some funds available.

Article said Panthers offer was well under "estimated market value" if $750k. I assume that the figure his manager told the journo. Don't think a $600k offer will cut it.Fuifui Bradbrad wrote: ↑May 13, 2022, 10:24 pm I think he’s from Temora, which is closer to Canberra then Penrith.

That 'young' knights winger looks promising. He's a pommy, he's big and pretty quick so good for those tough carries and he's actually improving with each game.
Plus he is devilishly handsome. I would love to hear where he rates on Fui's top tens. He's possibly in the (Fui) discussion for not only the handsome list but also the hair list.

The guy is ordinary. Dodgy hands, poor defensive positioning, no real impact in his runs. Poor man's Semi Valemei.gergreg wrote: ↑May 14, 2022, 9:55 am That 'young' knights winger looks promising. I see where you’re going NR.
But, I’m gonna say ‘average weekly earnings’ man’s Semi Velemi.
Both seem to tick the physique box, but not the other boxes. I’d put them both at the same level. I see some potential, but they need a lot more football into them.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Which is also a great development message to give to a young, attacking player- that you'll be hung and quartered for your mistakes. Way to hone those instincts!Northern Raider wrote: ↑May 14, 2022, 7:04 pmBecause he might make a mistake. Haven't you been paying attention?

Campbell and Sloane are both less physically developed than Xavier.
Campbell had a great game last night but you couldn’t really say the same for Sloane.
Make of that what you will.
