Canterbury Bulldogs 2022

Post by greeneyed »

Squad Game: Bulldogs 2022 roster changes and best 17

Since playing finals in 2016 the Bulldogs have finished 13th, 13th, 15th, 15th and 16th so they have a huge mountain to climb even with their shiny new line-up. Trent Barrett’s men will certainly be more potent out wide and more powerful up the middle but it will take time to gel so perhaps a jump to ninth or 10th is a realistic goal in 2022.

Possible best 17
1. Matt Dufty, 2. Josh Addo-Carr, 3. Brent Naden, 4. Braidon Burns, 5. Corey Allan, 6. Matt Burton, 7. Jake Averillo, 8. Luke Thompson, 9. Jeremy Marshall-King, 10. Paul Vaughan, 11. Raymond Faitala-Mariner, 12. Tevita Pangai jnr, 13. Josh Jackson, 14. Bailey Biondi-Odo, 15. Jack Hetherington, 16. Ava Seumanufagai, 17. Corey Waddell

Yeah that was on the news last night. Barrett won’t be there because he’s attending a funeral.

Wouldn’t be a good look if he gets sacked today.
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Trent Barrett ‘quits’ as Canterbury Bulldogs coach as players sent home from training

Trent Barrett has reportedly quit as Bulldogs coach following the club’s disastrous start to the season. The club parted ways with Barrett on Monday while Nine’s Danny Weidler tweeted that the embattled coach quit on Sunday night.

It followed reports that the club was scheduled to hold an emergency meeting to discuss barrett’s future following the Magic Round loss to the Knights which was viewed as the “breaking point”.

Barrett walked before he was knifed.

Any suggestion Barrett quit is plain wrong.

Let me re-word that.

Of course Barrett quit. But Gus gave him no option.

Poor Ryan Sutton.
They really need to grab a halfback. Sean O'Sullivan at the least. Then with Reed coming you have a competent player in 3 spine positions. Better than the 1 they currently have this year.

It is not confirmed but I am pretty sure O’Sullivan will be at the Dolphins next year.

They might sign Sam Williams
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

They need to throw the bank at ricky. Offer him a 3 year deal with full control. He will get the players he wants and get rid of the dead wood.

O Sullivan looks competent I agree. It'd be a fairly inexperienced pair though with Burton.

Could be a good pair - Burton is Jack mark II with an even better boot, but it's also a risky pair. Fairly untried as starting halves.

The problem is going to be cap space. There's really not much out there if you start ruling out less experienced guys. You are either getting a guy who's just not a halfback or is/possibly busted. But if guys like Thompson and TPJ start leaving you can reorganize that.
