Put another way - nobody wants the puss that remains after you squeeze a boil out!
This is why you should wait for the focus group.
Possibly some kind of spellcheck/grammar check option too!

Signing one player just so we can keep another player.

Christ, imagine if we had to sign Howell or Bulgarelli for life in order to keep Daley. Tough choice

Canberra Raiders now offer three year deal to Adam Elliott

The Raiders have increased the length of a proposed contract extension for Adam Elliott from two to three years - matching the length of a deal on offer from Newcastle. Canberra is confident that their new three-year offer will be enough to keep Elliott.

Lol at those who thought Millie signing at the Knights was the end of this.

Next story we'll be in a bidding war with the Woden Rams, heading north of $600k a year.

In fairness, i didnt realise Boyle was still on the cards for the Raiders in 2023 when they launch their side.
I figured the knights deal was multiple years.

Why on earth would you lock Elliot into a 3 year deal when he's had 2 good games...

After seeing how the Croker and Whitehead deals look now...

Double down on Elliot for 3...

Jesus wept.

I bet we'll be even more annoyed if dollars are speculated on. We'll probably give him 500k a year.

You do realise he is our longer term captain right? Only logical reason he gets trotted out in front of the media 35 times a week. Ricky loves a tryer.

Surely we are not offering him anything over $350k-$400k to re-sign. Knowing us we are probably prepared to offer him $600k

Take it to the bank

x10 to all the above. How does two good games warrant a three year contract. Can only echo what's been said above, peak Raiders (indeed), bizarre, bad business

I would say it's another dressing room signing. No matter how professional the game has become, there's still room to get ahead on personality and just put it down to "culture". Mind boggling

The bloke hasn’t even made this week’s first grade side after being replaced by a debutant. And we’re in a bidding war for him? Sheesh.

Everything about our dealings with Adam Elliott makes me sick. He shouldn’t be here in the first place. And now we want to keep this roster-clogging ploder around for another 3 years?

I've been of the belief that we should be looking for an upgrade on Hudson Young who is still an OK player. I'd rate Young well above Elliott.

The irony of the club being given pats on the back for not going into a bidding war for Bateman and Cotric, yet more than happy to do so for ploder mcgee Elliott.

Absolutely. Especially if we sign him for 3 more years. There's always hope that a guy who's been bog average for 7 years will finally take his game to new levels.
