I've honestly no clue who most of those players are
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

All you need to know is come mid-season, they’re all either playing out of position, plodders, on overs or leaving for a Sydney Club
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

I'm going out on a limb and speculating that there may be a post regarding medical retirement for Croker by that stage of the season.

Any offficial word on whether he is co-captain with Whitehead?

Yeah there will be a focus on Croker. He's been ineffective for a while now.

Also Hodgson, EW, Jack.

Jack because he's exploring the market and if he starts to stink it up again the wolves will be out.
EW because he had a pretty poor year by his standards.

He's in the videos. Doesn't look like he's on the outs with the group either from the fist bumps etc.

If he stays he stays. The wage freight + need to find another "backup" hooker to replace him at a later and later stage mean it's looking more likely he stays now I think.

Multiple off-field distractions mar Raiders’ preparations for 2022 season

When Ricky Stuart and his coaching staff started thinking about the 2022 season, there’s a fair chance they wouldn’t – couldn’t – have predicted the months that followed.

Unvaccinated players, speculation around Josh Hodgson, Tom Starling involved in an alleged incident on the Central Coast, Jordan Rapana pleading guilty to drink driving and now there’s talk about Jack Wighton’s future beyond next season … all this has happened before pre-season training and the season itself is close to four months away.

It's been a turbulent off season.

Gangers, how does this off season rate on the gangers ratings system?

Glad to hear they're trying something different from last season. It it was as easy as running the most KMs in preseason then we would have gone okay last year.

Yeah we were clearly a bit off last season, imo. Not helped either by the large # of players we had coming back from knee recos, lisfranc etc.

Two Dads missed the mark a couple of times in his tenure I think, despite his good rep in the field.

Canberra Raiders forward Hudson Young reveals new approach to preseason training

Forward Hudson Young has revealed the Canberra Raiders have shaken up their approach to preseason training, with the arrival of new head of performance Jeremy Hickmans.

"There's a really good buzz around the club at the moment. There's been a bit of a freshen up with the staff on the performance side. So far it's been really good," Young said today.

"It's been a little bit different. Last year we did a lot more longer k's. They've shortened that up now. Shorter, sharper stuff and a lot more skills stuff. It's been really good."

"We've got an army camp just before the Christmas break, so we've been prepping for that. We've been putting weights in our bags and hiking up Mt Majura."

"I think the army camp will be tough, but you always get something out of it, so it should be good."

"Everyone was excited to get back, especially after the end of last year being in Queensland. It's been great to get back into Canberra and train where we love."
