Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
I'd like to represent AUS at Comm Games one day..
But at my age it would have to be something very low impact.
Lawn bowls, trap/pistol shooting, archery..something that doesn't involve me moving too much.

Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
I went and watched the marathon. Fantastic effort by the Aussies with gold in both para marathons and the men's marathon, and silver in the women's.
Kurt Fernley, what a champion. An inspiring guy.
I really felt for the poor Scotsman who led the men's until he literally collapsed at the 40km mark. It's hot out there.

Along with Mick Fanning I have Kurt Fearnley up on a pedestal as true Aussie champions and great blokes. What an absolutely awful opening to the closing ceremony. Off key singing... it's dreadful!
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
I thought the singing was bad... it's going from bad to worse! OMG this is AWFUL.
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
"An award winning slam poet". OMG.
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
Glad I didn't bother
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
Ricki Lee... cripes this really is the C list.
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
At least Anthony Callea and Guy Sebastian can carry a tune... this is generally very low rent.
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
Now the idea of having the Games volunteers to be Guy Sebastian's back up dancers... now that is truly ABOMINABLE!

Just bring out the athletes and get on with it
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
The athletes are already there, they said. I like the snake and indigenous pattern in lights. That's good.
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
Wow. The mayor of Birmingham's outfit leaves Tom Tate's in the gutter!
Re: Commonwealth Games 2018
More parochial Queensland Bull. At Sydney they didn't crap on about NSW. Typical.
