34th min TRY JETS to William Kennedy. They were in slow motion on the last and still the Mounties defence couldn’t hold. Two tries the direct result of Abbey errors. Flanagan converts from in front.

So we have NSW Cup commentators talking about how a fella who’s just been playing fullback in first grade needs to be moved to the wing. Haha

Conditions could definitely be a factor for abbey except that the opposing fullback is carving up and taking all his catches,he still got heaps of potential runs well , ohagan number 6 hasnt missed a tackle yet and had a few big guys run at him , hope ricky is watching that

Better from Abbey, that chase stops a try! Great tackle Milne... and they incorrectly call him off side.

47th min TRY JETS to Sione Katoa off the scrum win, 10m out. That’s the ball game, can’t see Mounties coming back. They’ve been off key from the kick off. Flanagan on the sideline... converts. It was like an arrow.

60th min TRY MOUNTIES to Tony Satini in the corner. If Mounties were to come back from here it’d be the biggest comeback ever! Sitiveni Moceidreke converts from the sideline.

Sadly, I’m concluding Abbey should be released, the Raiders have him on contract to end 2019, with another year in the club’s favour. There have to be better players out there for the top 30.

Full marks to the young coach Ryan Carr for getting the Mounties through to the second finals match. A shame some players got the yips in the biggest game of their season. Reading through the posts the Jets (Sharks) fullback Will Kennedy had a fine match. He is behind a log jam of fullbacks at the Sharks, Holmes, Dugan, Moylan. His Sharks profile has him listed as a 'ball playing fullback'. Should the November news be bad for Jack, is he worth a shot at??

MATCH REPORT: Newtown Jets thump Canberra Raiders affiliate Mounties to book Panthers showdown

Newtown Jets have sounded out a warning to the remaining teams in the Intrust Super Premiership Finals Series, thumping Mounties 34-16 in the sides' Semi-Final clash to book a Week Three clash with the Penrith Panthers.

Returning from their Week One Qualifying Final loss to the St. George Illawarra Dragons, the Jets showed they remain a premiership threat by disposing with the Mounties – the effort sure to have rival clubs wary of Newtown's attacking prowess in the weeks to come.
