Which side will win a game first this year? NRL or Tarsha Gale?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

PREVIEW

It is the final round of the 2018 junior representative competitions.

The Canberra Raiders Tarsha Gale Cup team is winless after eight rounds, and line up this week against the Bulldogs - a team with only one win this season. The Raiders have a points differential of -304 points, the Bulldogs -272. Canberra also has the worst defensive and attacking record. Neither team are able to make the top eight.

In Harold Matthews, the 13th placed Raiders face the last placed North Sydney Bears. The Raiders have only won one match this season, but have often been well in contention in their matches. Both teams are out of finals contention. This could be the week the Raiders get their second win.

The Raiders SG Ball team is currently in sixth place on the ladder - and will be aiming for a win over the 12th placed North Sydney Bears, so as to secure a finals place. The Raiders have won four games this year, the Bears just two. Canberra has a significantly better attacking record than the Bears, scoring more than twice the number of points... and a better defensive record as well. Canberra should be too strong for a North Sydney team that cannot make the finals.

PREVIEW: The Canberra Raiders produced a remarkable come from behind win over the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval in Week 1 of the SG Ball Finals, running out 40-36 winners - thanks to a try in the final two minutes.

The Raiders now meet the Penrith Panthers in Weeks 2 of the finals at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday. The Panthers finished the regular season undefeated, but fell to the Newcastle Knights in Week 1 of the finals, losing 18-6.

It is again sudden death for the Green Machine. The winner of this match will progress to a Preliminary Final.
