Women’s Tackle Come and Try Day

10am Sunday, November 20. Northbourne Oval, Braddon.

Canberra Region Rugby League (CRRL) will be holding a women’s tackle come and try day on Sunday, November 20 at Northbourne Oval in Braddon.

The day will cater for all levels and abilities, and is open to women aged 13 and above. There will be a variety of tackling and passing drills, before participants are split into age-based groups for practise games.

CRRL General Manager, Mark Vergano, is excited at the growth of women’s tackle in Canberra, and the potential that exists for the future.

“We went from four to six teams this year in women’s tackle. There’s obviously an enthusiasm for the game across our region,” Vergano said. “The come and try day is a great way to introduce people from the region into tackle rugby league. Anybody from 13 years of age and up can come along try their hand at the game.

“We are looking to have three tackle competitions in the future, and continually expand the women’s game in Canberra and the region.”

The come and try day will also be an excellent opportunity for women to meet friends interested in the game and to begin the process of forming and joining teams for the upcoming season.
The women's tackle open competition for next year will be run on a Friday night to allow players who wish to play League Tag and Tackle the opportunity to do both.

All participants must register prior to the session kicking off. Registrations will be taken from 9.30am on the day.

For those that did not play in the CRRL competition in the 2016 season, you are required to fill out the attached registration form for insurance purposes. Either print off and fill out before the come and try day or we will have spare copies available on the day.
