Yes and yes according to last year.

It won't let me change his position yet into an empty slot, but I guess that will change once there's another dual position player or something. Won't matter until later in the draft.

Do the bench players points count or only if they're in the starting 17?

Only starting team. It is good to have dual position players on the bench.

So the pre draft single player option is a complete waste of time, its doesn't even select your player.

Christ there has to be a better way than this. 5 players in 3 days is slow going.
