NRL referee administration

Post by TiTTieS_[CNTDN] »

Last week's game saw Daniel Irvine dropped after what has been labelled by Tony Archer as an incorrect decision. Following that, Sharks coach 'Flanagan admitted that if Cronulla hadn't won, he would've "struggled" to speak honestly post-match.'

So, two key issues from this. First, should Flannagan not be fined as he has, in my opinion, done the same as Ricky Stuart when he was fined for refusing to properly participate in the post match conference?

Secondly, who in the video referee box is responsible for deciding on the put down? If it's Shane Hayne, then it is a poor decision to drop Irvine.

Then last night there was the easy decision to sin bin Martin Tapau after a swinging arm. Would the referee have had the testicular fortitude to sin bin him if the game was in the balance?

Last of all, the recent decision to not award a penalty to a player who has stayed down after a high tackle seem poorly managed. Where is the consistency in what can be reviewed and what cannot?
