I was at ballymore and I'm sure I met reptar.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I was leaning more toward alcohol than the taxi. Like, for example, when I'm too blind or too lazy to do a shop run and there's subtle proposals going on around me regarding who may make the trip, you can bet I'm going all Nick in a cab, throwing notes at whomever will take it pleading with them to just make it happen :lol:

yeah, you get to a point where you cant figure out what your fair share is or how the break down should happen, so you just chuck money at people until they say it's sorted. :lol:

I don't even think that elaborately - I'm just a materialistic **** and think that money will make my problems go away :lol:

Lucky for me I have friends similar to Schifty, as after it's all said and done, it's not uncommon for me to have money returned :lol:
