Playing Riding Dirty on my boombox as I go.
Righty-o, Ask Fui is flipping on its head. Mrs Fui gets her hair done in Windsor, and last time I figured instead of just going home and waiting for the call to pick her up, I’d explore Windsor and have a treat myself day.
It was great. Walking the main street, I noticed they had 3 pubs in the town. Royal Exchange, Fitzroy and Macquarie Arms. With MA boasting about being the oldest mainland pub in Aus, I thought I’d check it out.
I’ve now decided the next time Mrs Fui gets the hair done, I’m going to do all 3 as a mini achievement. Her hair appointment is at 9:30… is that too early to be rocking up to pubs and drinking solo? I’m feeling it’s line ball… I mean, they’re open right?
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Never too early mate, I love grabbing a couple of early morning schooners at opening at the Tedesco inn... also I start pretty early at work 5am, and have been known to knock off a six pack by 7.30 of coopers red.

It's midday somewhere in the world Fui.
Interesting you say it like that, Doc. Some people say it's 5pm in the world somewhere, but I've always said it's 10am in the world somewhere... I guess it's all just a matter of perspective.
And Fui... 9.30am is absolutely NOT too early to start drinking. Some might even argue it's a bit late.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
Asked ChatGPT to write a Dave Matthews song. Didn’t disappoint
(Verse 1)
Underneath the sycamore tree, by the riverside so wide,
I strum my guitar, feeling the rhythm of the tide.
The sun dips low, casting shadows long and free,
In this moment, I find my peace, just like you and me.
(Chorus)
We're dancing with the stars, under the moon's soft glow,
In this melody, our emotions flow.
With violin and saxophone, our hearts they intertwine,
In this sweet, sweet moment, we'll let our spirits shine.
(Verse 2)
With lyrics like poetry, we sing about love's sweet embrace,
As the fireflies flicker and the night takes its place.
The world fades away, leaving just you and me,
Lost in the music, it's the way it's meant to be.
(Chorus)
We're dancing with the stars, under the moon's soft glow,
In this melody, our emotions flow.
With violin and saxophone, our hearts they intertwine,
In this sweet, sweet moment, we'll let our spirits shine.
(Bridge)
A fiddle's cry, a saxophone's sigh, a harmony so divine,
In this style, we'll let our souls entwine.
With every strum and every note, we're living in a dream,
In this jam session under the stars, life's not as it may seem.
(Verse 3)
As the night turns to dawn, we'll keep this moment alive,
With every chord progression, our spirits will thrive.
In this style, we'll jam till the break of day,
With the sunrise as our witness, our love will never fade away.
(Chorus)
We're dancing with the stars, under the moon's soft glow,
In this melody, our emotions flow.
With violin and saxophone, our hearts they intertwine,
In this sweet, sweet moment, we'll let our spirits shine.
(Outro)
So let the music guide us, like a river to the sea,
In this style, we'll let our spirits roam free.
With love, laughter, and music, we'll cherish this night,
Underneath the sycamore tree, in the soft moonlight.

Love a good open misere. Feels so satisfying to pull one off, and if you’re playing the game properly you’ve got to get the bid above 250 before you can call one, meaning you have to bluff that you have a good hand to start with.
I feel like a good misere is more pleasing than an open. If I’m playing open it’s just mechanical from there, because if I don’t have the hand for it my opponents will tear it apart. A misere where it might be a bit risky and take some deft play *chef’s kiss*.
Though you’re bang on about the bidding - though I think we used to have 8 spades supersede a misere, and permit and open call. It’s pretty arbitrary and silly having the line drawn between spades and clubs.

No. That doesn’t sound like it at all
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate. John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where individuals with low ability in a specific area grossly overestimate their competence. This often occurs because they lack the knowledge or skills to accurately assess their own abilities, leading to a false sense of confidence.

I love my kamado, I wouldn’t swap it for any other low and slow smoker on the market. The only thing easier to control temp is a pellet smoker if you want to go down the electric smoker route.
I’ve got a Pit Boss Kamado, it was low cost entry ($1000 from Costco) but it has a big 56cm internal size. KJ have a heap of sizes and accessories that cheaper modes like mine don’t have that I have never needed anyway.
But if I was to buy one now I’d get a Primo xl, there an oval shape that fits huge cuts in it and are great for dual temperature cooking like reverse searing due to the shape compared to a circle.
