The last three minutes of game three is going to come back to haunt Cleveland I think. **** if they headed back to Oracle 2-2 the Warriors would have been thinking about last year.

Yes! Gordon Hayward joins the Celtics. The Cavs might have some actual competition in the East this season

Kyrie has requested a trade! Can't wait until it's the Celtics turn to get beaten in 5 by the Warriors this year!

Re: NBA Thread
Wouldn't be at all surprised if the Kyrie rumours/trade request are a part of a LeBron FU Dan Gilbert ploy.
Re: NBA Thread
LBJ is going at the end of the next season, he can't beat GSW. Kyrie knows it, he's just trying to get out whilst his value is high
Let's not forget that the NBA has see Kyrie as a #1 guy and it was a road to 30-40 wins

Re: NBA Thread
I just want Lebron to not go to the Lakers. Kyrie can go wherever, no team he could go to in the West will be able to beat the Warriors with him, and no team he could actually go to in the East will be able to beat the Celtics with him

Re: NBA Thread
The lakers thing is happening from all reports
They are freeing up cap, he wants to be magic off the court
They'll end up with PG13, LBJ and probably one of CP/Melo and then Wade on a minimum to have a 1-2 year crack at the Dubs
At the very least in 2019 they'll be running out with PG, Bron and Lonzo

Re: NBA Thread
I have no idea how to feel about this Kyrie trade.
On one hand Kyrie Irving!
On the other hand, did we really have to give up the BKN pick?
Also I got an IT4 jersey 4 months ago, so this is doubly disappointing

Cavs robbed Celtics blind. IT, Crowder, Zürúíķ and a 1st rounder is a great deal for them.

This is still a good trade for the Celtics, though.
In 4 years Prime Kyrie> Old and slow IT+Crowder who is probably gone anyway and a wildcard in the Brooklyn pick. So despite the fact I don't think we had to give up as much as we did, I would still prefer to have done this trade than not

Re: NBA Thread
The Cavs would be desperate for draft picks to cover for the inevitable loss of LBJ. The Celts need to shed IT before his big payrise is due, but there are obviously also concerns about his hip. Crowder is excess to requirements with Hayward, Tatum and Brown on the roster. It all makes sense.Notaroboticfish wrote:I'm fine with giving up IT and Crowder, but did we really need to give up Zizic and the BKN pick?Manchild wrote:How do you think 2K feels. I love IT, but his hip injury really is a concern. It's a shame that could be the reason the Cavs pull the plug on the deal. In saying that, I'm not overly convinced about Irving as our PG, unless he changes his attitude - although sharing the ball with Hayward and Horford is a different prospect to LBJ and Love.
It will be interesting to see what happens. I'm in the midst of securing tickets to a couple of games right now. Hopefully they live up to expectations unlike the bloody Raiders!

The Cavs are being *****. Every man and his dog knew about IT's hip injury before the trade and now that it's all done they're demanding more because they didn't know about it?Seiffert82 wrote:The Cavs would be desperate for draft picks to cover for the inevitable loss of LBJ. It's not necessarily that they didn't know about it - more that they weren't aware of the extent of it. He isn't even running yet and the season starts in less than 2 months.

Get the Yahoo app as well. It works well. All we ask is that you at least try play the season and not be a part timer. Draft date is on the page.

Nah, many reports have said nothing in his physical should have surprised and the Celtics believe they were always completely honest about IT's injury.Seiffert82 wrote:It's not necessarily that they didn't know about it - more that they weren't aware of the extent of it. Sweet, my biggest issue will be remembering about the draft but I have set a heap of reminders. I'm already in a couple of Yahoo leagues so managing my team won't be an issue.Manchild wrote:https://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo. ... 26b482aef71990baby wrote:Sounds good. Well the deal has been done after the Celts threw in a 2020 2nd round pick acquired from the Heat.Notaroboticfish wrote:Nah, many reports have said nothing in his physical should have surprised and the Celtics believe they were always completely honest about IT's injury.Seiffert82 wrote:It's not necessarily that they didn't know about it - more that they weren't aware of the extent of it. Not sure this was worth Koby Altman establishing himself with a reputation as a GM who renegs on deals at the 11th hour, but there you go. Strange move.
Barring major injuries they should obviously be right up the in the East despite having bugger all interior presence and no rebounding - although I'm keen to see how Aron Baynes goes with them - I think he's a good pickup. I think Irving's game will complement Hayward and Horford well. As much as I loved IT, I was pretty concerned about how he was going to back up this season, irrespective of the injury.
We'll see what happens. As long as they're firing when I go over there in March-April to see a couple of games.

**** me, first game of the season and Gordon Hayward looks to potentially be out for the entire season with a terrible ankle injury
Re: NBA Thread
That Gordon injury was **** brutal
God what a horrible moment for him, glad he got paid before that but wow
That was PG13 level stuff. You could see immediately the reaction from the cavs bench

Had $20 on Draymond to score a triple double and the warriors to win
He was as held out in the late stages of the 4th. He finished one point shy of a triple double and I’m sure if he finishes the game, the warriors win with is

Btw, the Celtics are on a 12 game winning street without Gordon Hayward and Al Horford and Kyrie Irving have also missed a few games. Brad Stevens has gotta be Front Runner for COTY so far

There is some great young talent showing off in this Philly vs Lakers game. Embiid is scary good. Poor old Lonzo just cant drop a shot.
Simmons just 1 rebound shy of a triple double
