Re: Raiders club songs
why dont we just stick with "fighting the world" by Manowar?
it sort of epitomises (spell check) what this club is about , its the raiders vs the rest of the NRL world
and it must of pumped the boys up last year , we de railed the dragons season with that one game

Re: Raiders club songs
i think we should adopt this manchester united song for the way where playing now and change a few words to make it raiders related.
ITS ALL ABOUT BELIEF
This could be the year to celebrate and cheer
Pitch
Bench and terraces
We're all wanting the same thing
If you believe in us we won't betray that trust
Through the streets of CANBERRA you're gonna hear the people sing
Gonna lift it high
Gonna lift it high
Our only limit is the sky 'cause through the triumph and the grief
It's all about
It's all about
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
This could be the team to achieve the dream
We got nothing to prove but we want it all the same
Raiders we are
Already come so far
We will not rest until the whole world knows our name
Gonna lift it high
Gonna lift it high
Our only limit is the sky 'cause through the triumph and the grief
It's all about
It's all about
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
Gonna lift it high
Gonna lift it high
Our only limit is the sky 'cause through the triumph and the grief
It's all about
It's all about
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
It's all about belief
This could be our year

Re: Raiders club songs
Wasn't there another song in there somewhere too. I remember getting a yellow vinyl (record) back in the late 80's that had the "We are the Canberra Raiders" and another song called "Here Come The Raiders".
Here Come The Raiders was pretty upbeat and having lost the record years ago I can only remember a few lines. I think the lead up to the chorus went
First you hear the whistle blow
Then the crown roar
Hear come the raiders
Hear come the raiders.
Anyone know or remember it?

Re: Raiders club songs
How about a re-tooled version of this song as pump up music before the players run out before a game?
Would sound awsome IMO.

Re: Raiders club songs
Raiders marketing have been hard at work coming up with a song that fits the current culture of the club. The seven unfortunate people who turn up to the next home game will be treated to this as the boys walk out onto the field will their heads hanging low.

Re: Raiders club songs
Get a local band to play 'The Green Machine' live at the ground pre game.
It'd be awesome.
At halftime get a blue-grass outfit to play 'We Are The Canberra Raiders'.
A win will top off a great day at the football.

New, updated club songs for YouTube:
Re: Raiders club songs
Who remembers “We Are The Canberra Raiders”?
It’s lucky that hope springs eternal in the hearth of the Raider’s true believers at The Greenhouse.
Despite as disappointing a season as can be imagined they’ve put together a highlights video featuring the club songs.
Well, all two of them.
“The Bad and Mean Green Machine” will of course be familiar to many, but “We Are The Canberra Raiders” was a new one on me.

Re: Raiders club songs
I reckon the Green Machine is the best club song in the NRL.
I vaguely recall the Raiders had a different song during SuperLeague ... stuffed if I can remember what it was, but it was crap compared to the Green Machine.

Re: Raiders club songs
There was one song tried, US song adapted to the Raiders. Lasted one outing.

Re: Raiders club songs
All team songs are a load of wank. Up there with AFL banners. Just gimmicky rubbish. Embarrassing.
