Re: The Cricket Thread
To get nearly 400 is pretty good.
Carey and Green proving they are up to test level. Really want to see both get that 1st 100 now.
Warner started the series ok, but has tailed off sharply

Warner scored 90 odd was it? On a pitch my grandma could score 50 on. He's been useless.Matt wrote:To get nearly 400 is pretty good.

Re: The Cricket Thread
So yep, he's been useless. Always is in the subcontinent.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Such a boring series. Another road by the looks with Pakistan going at about 2.3 an over. Another **** draw.

Remember that time in 2022 when the AUS test team visited PAK for the first time in 24yrs and all we got was 10,000 runs and 3 boring draws ?

Well, some great bowling. Not an easy pitch to get 20 wickets on but if we can get some quick runs and have a day and a bit to get the batsmen out we may have a chance

I'm stunned. They were 4 for when I went to bed. Looks like Cummins and Starc whipped through the tail with the new ball?Azza wrote:Well, some great bowling. Not an easy pitch to get 20 wickets on but if we can get some quick runs and have a day and a bit to get the batsmen out we may have a chance

Warner getting accused of pitch tampering.
Looks like they are upping the run rate a little.

I wish Khawaja was shown the same loyalty throughout his career as some other plays who got a lot more than they deserved.

Re: The Cricket Thread
So... declaration when?
Pakistan's scoring rate has been pretty slow throughout the entire series - I'm not sure they've scored 300 runs in a day. So I think we have enough already. So long as we have 100 overs at them, which is 2 new balls.

Geez we’ve gone early in the declaration. They have an opportunity to win it, if they’re good enough. I would have put it out of the question and gone another 20 -30 minutes and 40 runs.
Re: The Cricket Thread
I think better to declare early. Dangles the carrot and encourages them to take risks, which our bowlers will appreciate.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Reactionary declaration by Cummins. Got roasted earlier in the series for waiting too long.
I think he's gone a fraction early TBH. This pitch isn't easy to get wickets on.
