Some partnership this one!
Green has always had the talent, just needed time.
Nice to see him do this off the back of a Shield century too.

Re: The Cricket Thread
What was a small advantage to Aussies has turned into a huge one. Pushing 400 after being sent in is massive.

Re: The Cricket Thread
They (NZ) had us 4/89.
A huge recovery mission that started with the Marsh/Green partnership.
NZs bowling this morning has been bog. Reminds me of how AUS bowled trying to dismiss the WI tail.
Play extended half hour now.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Australia all out 383 with Green Not Out on 174 with 23 fours and 5 sixes, and Hazlewood last out for 22. A 116 run partnership for the last wicket. For NZ Matt Henry was the star taking 5-70 off 30.1 overs. Surprise for me was Southee with 0-92 off 27 overs. I rate the 35 year old who has more than 350 Test wickets but not to be in this first Australian innings.
After being sent in to bat on a green (ala Cameron Green) wicket to make 383 in the first innings is a fine effort. Now to see what Australia can do with the ball and in the field.

Kiwis bats doing a Keystone Cops impression to start their innings.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Yeh, NZ 3/13 after 6 overs. Starc started the rot by bowling Latham for 5, then Kane Williamson was run out by Labu for 0, followed by Ravindra for 0 caught by Goat at Point off Hazlewood.
Re: The Cricket Thread
Williamson with one of the all time self barbeques.
Would have been run out even if he didn't run into his partner

Re: The Cricket Thread
Kiwis must have booked golf this weekend. They don't seem too keen on this game going that long.

Re: The Cricket Thread
NZ 5-42 at Tea on Day 2. GOAT has not yet bowled, but the other 4 bowlers have 1 wicket each and there was the run out.

Re: The Cricket Thread
GOAT the wrecker taking 4-43 from 8.1 overs. Hazlewood 2-55 from 12 overs, Starc 1-34 from 9 overs, Cummins 1-33 from 10 overs and Marsh 1-10 from 4 overs. NZ all out for 179 in under 2 sessions. Australia lead by 204 runs on first innings. A potentially difficult little time up to stumps on Day 2 for the Australian openers.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Marnus fails again out for 2 from 13 balls caught Blundell bowled Southee. Two wickets for Southee and that was what I was expecting from him. Fine bowler. GOAT is now out there with Usi. GOAT 6 n.o. and Usi 5 n.o. with Australia 2-13.
GOAT gets a life dropped by Southee off the last ball of the day bowled by Matt Henry. Australia overall lead of 217.

Re: The Cricket Thread
The skipper drops the GOAT, playing nighthawk, last ball of the day.
Labus form is now very much in the "**** dude" bracket. He was out on a 4 ball too, it's a gift, and somehow strangled down leg. I just don't know who you bring in.
