Oh Finchy.

Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
FWIW I got talked into playing SC this year again after a many many year hiatus and whilst it has improved and I’m enjoying it I think last nights game and looking at the scores is a pretty good example of the scoring still being pretty flawed.
Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
How so? This isn't anonymous judges dishing out wildly inaccurate subjective Dally M points, it's based on actual game data. I get that's it's flawed in certain aspects suchs as try-causes or "missed tackles", but when scoring is based on positive plays, obviously higher scores indicate a generally high quality performance, lower scores indicate either a lower output or limited minutes on the field. There's a reason the likes of Tedesco and Cleary score well most weeks.
Anyway, as I stated initially, Supercoach isn't gospel but it's a good indication. The point I'm making is statistically Cleary was a lot better than Schneider, yet certain people want to claim both performances were "excellent". I disagree.
Ata Mariota’s #1 fan. Bless his cotton socks.
Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
I’ll wager for example Schneider got points for the panthers first try
Probably try contribution points. His kick was bad, it was far too short and give his team little chance to create a chance
A chance was created out of it because a roosters player spilled his lollies and it by happenstance hit Edwards on the chest and he could put Turuva over. I don’t think the guy putting in the **** kick should be getting points for that, but he will.
Turuva himself scored like 107 vs Edwards 112. Their impact on the game was not even close. But that’s the nature of fantasy scoring and the weight it gives tries/goals/touchdowns
It obviously has some value and I agree that for the most part a player scoring high probably indicates they were pretty good and a player scoring low probably means they didn’t impact the game much.

How does Jack feel playing for a bottom 8 side? Although they got the win, Souths were unimpressive again. Without him and Rusty's brown paper bags, Souths would be 0-4.

Cleary understudy opens up on “no-brainer” decision to join Premiers
His Penrith club debut may have been slightly overshadowed by the son of a legend, but halfback Brad Schneider was seamless in filling in for the injured Nathan Cleary against the Roosters last week.
“When I first went over to England, I had no idea what I was going to do afterwards. I always wanted to come back home and have another crack at the NRL, but then I considered staying over there for another year – I didn’t know what I was doing to be honest,” Schneider admitted.
“But when the Panthers came knocking, it was a bit of a no-brainer to join the club after the success they’ve had. The culture, everything, it’s something you really want to be a part of.”

Penrith stunt doubles: Brad Schneider next in line for NRL career glow-up
Filling in for Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai has become the hottest gig in the NRL, and with a shortage of halves in the game, history says Brad Schneider is in line for a massive payday. It’s the underrated job that helped land Penrith three premierships and a handful of halves a career glow up. They’re the Panthers stunt doubles, a job superbly filled by Sean O’Sullivan, then Jack Cogger and now Brad Schneider.
The 23-year-old ex-Canberra and Hull KR halfback is the latest in a line of talented players found in obscurity and brought to the club to do a job.

Milford in first grade for the dolphins this week.
On the weekend I was showing my nephew Raider Milford highlights. God he was incredible for us. Such a shame and a waste of talent.

South Sydney in talks with David Furner to help embattled coach Jason Demetriou
South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou has turned to one of the most experienced coaches in the game to help save the Rabbitohs’ season and strengthen his grip on his job. Further talks were held on Monday and Tuesday and a formal agreement is expected to be finalised, cleaning the way for Furner to resume his coaching career at the embattled Rabbitohs.
“There is a bit to do,” Furner said. “For me it is an easy move - I know a lot of the staff, I know the hierarchy. I’ll be working with the forwards around their defence and things like that. I am keen to help out. It is good to be back in the game.”

Taking a leaf out of Daniel Vidot’s book Blake Fergo’s bush footy contract terminated after a number of off-field allegations.
Fergo running into trouble because of off field behaviour. Surely not.

It's almost like you can't undo a season of poor defence in a week.
That edge without Graham just isn't holding together.
