how long has he been running for?
wade mckinnon (same injury) has been running around for about two months now and is only just about to make his comeback to actually playing(this week or next apparently).
i think with these injurys its not so much the running but the change of direction when running that is the problem. if he can have a couple of matches under his belt before the finals i'm sure he would add to our team though milne must have his spot sewn up.

i really wouldnt take Milne out of the side even if Zillman was fit i guess , he is our new number one and should stay there

dirty mongrel broncos would of had a plan to take him out , hodges is a dirty prick that should of been sent off

maybe next time we play them , have a plan to take out locky and hodges , see how they go then

I'd love to see Zillman off the bench for the end of the season if fit. Especially without TC it'd be a welcome return IMO, could come on as an impact player and spen some time in the halves. Won't happen though. I mean I hate to say it and it sounds terrible, it isn't our problem if he gets injured again.

Agree Julian87. Zillman could fill any spot from 1 to 7 plus add some impact and therefore be a great asset off the bench. Even if you were running low on forwards you could slot Campo into the back row and ZIlly into 5/8. Would be a nice ace up your sleeve heading into the finals.

Don't know why I'd let a rumour get me so excited (after all the false starts in the last few years) but for some reason the claim that Zillman might be available before seasons end actually excites me.

Furthermore, I can't actually work out why I'd be excited... Hard to see a spot anywhere for him, other than an impact player of the bench for one or two games. Always liked the bloke (who wouldn't, he seems like a top fella), but was never convinced that he should be our fullback.

I reckon without his injuries, he'd have been a great long term half back for the club. With all the Carney saga, we might really start to lament the loss of a very fast and talented player like Zilly.

He'll officially be the only Titans player I don't hate. Best of luck to him.

I saw in Thommo's weekly gibber about Phil and wondered what was going on with Zilly as he recovered very fast last time whereas Phil seems to be a more conservative rehab prospect. Shame if he has already moved on but fair enough if the Giants are paying his rehab bill.

Average rehab for an ACL reco is 9months, people usually start straight line running around 5 months, so thats another 4 months from when they start running untill they are back playing. This is variable and people can make it back faster eg. Lockyer 6 months.

Zillman has been living in the Gold Coast for ages now. He aint playing for Canberra again.

Most of the good ones would be re-signed for next season by now. There is also two new clubs looking to fill their rosters.
Management could maybe pull a rabbit out of the hat but I dont see any easy targets.

I would probably chase the better under 20s, even if its only to push their value up.

There are very few quality players left on the market...From all reports we have a lot of cap space left for next season and nowhere to spend it...I'd say management's best option is trying to poach some promising juniors from other clubs...They are less likely to be signed up and we have the cap space now to offer them very good contracts that most clubs wont be able to compete with...
