It's only you talking to yourself in this thread anyway - if I were to leave there'd be no activity at all.

Did you see Man United's draw for the champions league? looks to be easy, but the club said that last year so i hope they take things more seriously this time around.

With some RVP love we will go all right. Plus The old stagers Scholes and Sir Ryan with their experience will get us through. I still think we are short that one explosive player in the midfield though

Re: The Manchester United Thread
I think United need a strong, hard working midfielder more than an explosive player. Otherwise they will really struggle to win the midfield battle against the likes of City or even Newcastle/Everton. Given the attacking flair and talent they have at their disposal, I have no doubt that United will have a few more big wins against relegation contenders, but against top sides they need a stronger midfield, and I think the points they drop in those games will be the difference between them finishing 1st and 2nd.
Players like Aguero and Silva deservedly get plenty of headlines with dominating performances against the weaker sides in the PL, but in my opinion Yaya Toure is the most valuable player in the City squad because of his performances in big games. I'm not suggesting Toure isn't explosive, but his ability to boss the midfield against the big boys is invaluable. United are desperately missing a player like him.

Been that way for a few years SubLime, Fergie is too stubborn to admit it or do anything about it.SubLime Green wrote:I think United need a strong, hard working midfielder more than an explosive player. That's why I found it strange that they picked up RVP for 30m when Modric when to RM for 35m. That was the hole he needed to fill, he has capable options further up the park that can do the job however they are sadly lacking in there. I might be wrong about this one and RVP will be the difference in the end, but I don't see how they beat the elite teams in the EPL and Europe with the CM combo's they currently have.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.
Re: The Manchester United Thread
Carrick and Giggs were absolutely swamped again last night. It seems that almost every time United have come up against a top side in the last couple of seasons they've been smashed in the middle, regardless of whether they've scratched out a win or not. Even Ajax, Benfica, Basle and Athletic Bilbao bossed them at Old Trafford last night.
Re: The Manchester United Thread
Mate, every single person can see it but the Manager. He's like that though, because everyone suggests it, he'll stick to his guns in some stupid attempt to stroke his ego and give us all the finger. Didn't he also use Jones and Evans in there last season too at time? Ludicrious.

As I posted above they need a explosive player in the midfield I think Kaka can deliver that spark. Rooney, RVP and Kaka

Re: The Manchester United Thread
In all honesty, Yes they are sucessful, They are a champion side, However its because of the way the club is run from the ground up, from youth squad to 1sts, player recruitment, player retention and cutting the dead wood or players who donot buy into the managers plans, Now picture this If we had Sir Alex Ferguson running the Raiders???
How do you think we would be?

Re: The Manchester United Thread
please dont start lecturing Freddo, you admit you only started supporting them after they started winning in the early to mid 90s. Every club tries hard, across every code, including us, we all all want to be successful- what exactly are you trying to say?
