And our wheelchair rugby team (Steelers)have been beaten by GBR 58-55 in their pool game.

To be fair, I don’t know why this sport is labelled “rugby”

So many forward passes it's like watching a Melbourne Storm game.

I did try to get into the Paralympics a number of years ago when it started receiving decent coverage. I struggled to follow it with so many categories of the same event and massive field spreads. No disrespect to the participants who are incredible. It's just not a great spectacle for the casual viewer.

Yeah fair enough. They have a right to compete etc. Just not a draw for casuals like me as you pointed out.

How good is swimmer Alexa Leary? Amazing swim in the 4 x 100 mixed medley relay. She started 15 mtrs behind her male opponent in the final freestyle leg and and beat him to the line to take gold for the Australian team. When interviewed after the win she said to watch her because she had even better to come.

She then comes out and breaks the World Record for the 100 mtrs Freestyle in a semi final of the event in a time of 59.6 seconds. When you think that Dawn Fraser set the World record of 58.9 seconds in 1964 and that was not lowered until Shane Gould swam 58.5 seconds in 1972, then Alexa is not far away from those Aussie icons. Alexa has just turned 23 so has a long time of competition ahead of her.
