Been smashing Paul Dempsey lately on Spotify. Prefer his solo stuff over Something For Kate. This cover of Edge of Town in particular

Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

Yeah, I also prefer his covers over his original stuff. I had Edge of Town and Sweet Nothing in my top 10 covers list

Yeah add another one to that. Something for Kate were a band I should have absolutely loved but never really did.

Love Dempsey though. Everything he touches as a solo act turns to gold imo.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Is anyone aware that The guitarist from the 70’s glam rock band “Hush” Les Gock composed the Raiders “ Bad n Mean” club anthem?

Dunno why, I can just listen to this several times a day. I wish I could play guitar like that.

Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

The best bit is from 5:57 … but lasts until the end of the song. I can play the studio version (poorly, mind you), but this 5 minutes of brilliance is beyond me how you’d even come up with it.

Yes, that is a great soundtrack. I haven’t seen the movie - I probably should watch it!

50 years since Paul McCartney and Wings released the album Band on the Run. Hard to believe.

Did you see Paul when he was in Australia last year?

There have been some great versions of the song Hallelujah but for sheer purity of the voice, this from Lucy Thomas is very hard to beat.
