Re: NFL Thread
Bengals pick is Mims. OT. They have picked on traits and upside. Burrows gets a body guard.
This is either great, or a reach. Don't think there's grey here.

Rams 1st 1st Rd pick since 2016 is Verse. DE. Not quite a replacement for Aaron Donald, but I'll call it that. Feels like a similar sort of pick to fill a similar role. Leader on D.

Steelers pick is Fautanu OT. A Steelers brawler. He'll play anywhere and just pancake guys.
Love the player. Kinda hoped he get to us, but didn't think it would happen.

Re: NFL Thread
Phins run their pick up.
I'd say Pheagles will have their pick of CBs here. They'll run there's up too I'm sure.
I'd say Jags will take the CB still there.
Dallas might just get their centre.

Not really. Fautanu was my ideal pick and came off the board 1 pick ahead. That aside there was plenty of players available that I would have taken ahead of Chop. Can't help but feel we could have traded back and still got him.

Re: NFL Thread
Pheagles pick, from Jordan Mailata, Mitchell CB. They get the #1 CB.
Well, I guess CD gonna have a challenge on his hands.
Botmans gonna go bonkers over this 1. I think he was hoping for a top 3 CB, but getting #1 is huge.

Yeah, he wasn't what I thought you'd do. I had OL, but most are gone. I thought you might go CB instead.Northern Raider wrote: ↑April 26, 2024, 12:45 pmNot really. Re: NFL Thread
Jags pick in.
It's Brian Thomas Jr, WR.
Well, Barton is on the board. I'd be surprised if Cowboys aren't running this up.
The only thing is, maybe they are dealing. Coz JPJ and Guyton are also there.

Dallas do trade back with Lions. For pick 29 and 73. Cowboys give up next yrs 7th. I'm happy with this. 4 picks in the top 100.
Lions pick is Arnold, CB. Very good pick

Re: NFL Thread
Packers take Morgan, OT. Can play inside. 1 guy Cowboys were looking at, along with Suamatia, who is rated lower than I think he should.
This Morgan is suuuper consistent. A little undersized though.

Re: NFL Thread
Bit of a reach for them? May have been there at 41. Line gets a bit blurry between end of 1st and early 2nd round. They obviously liked him and didn't want to risk it.

Yep. I agree. He was rated in the 1st early in the draft process, but fell in the media. Will be interesting to see how this works outNorthern Raider wrote: ↑April 26, 2024, 1:17 pmBit of a reach for them? May have been there at 41. Bills bail out with Chiefs.
You'd have to think they go WR. I hope Bills didn't just give up the WR they wanted. WEIRD!!!

Re: NFL Thread
Dallas after trading back select Tyler Guyton OT. Not a surprise per say, but I really thought it would be JPJ or Barton.
This confirms Smith will remain at G.
3 picks left in the top 100. LB, RB and C???

Had a look at the trade compensation from Vikings. Cowboys get an early 3rd for moving down 5 spots late in the 1st is a pretty good deal.

Yup. Pretty happy. Barton, JPJ and Guyton were the 3 guys we were pretty regularly mocked to.Northern Raider wrote: ↑April 26, 2024, 1:36 pm Boys got their OL. Nice pick at the end of the round.
LB, RB and C still needed

I did a million mocks. This exact trade came up regularly. It's a great deal. Still no 4th, but I'll take 4 inside 100.Northern Raider wrote: ↑April 26, 2024, 1:41 pmHad a look at the trade compensation from Vikings. WOOOW! Pearsall WR goes earlier than I'd expected. I had him in the 2nd. 9ers get another Ayuik type WR in my opinion, so do they re-sign him? Or is he trade bait now?

Re: NFL Thread
Bills trade outta the 1st with Panthers.
Panthers, to close out the 1st Rd, take Xavier Leggette, WR. Again, I had a 2nd on him. I'd have taken McConkey, Corely (has Deebo comps), Washington or Coleman.
So Bills have traded away twice to teams taking WRs, of which they need. ****?!? BUUUT... given the above, I guess Bills might still get a better WR than either

Re: NFL Thread
I look forward to Botman and Bones wrap up posts in the next 24hrs or so.
Felt like the 1st 6-7 picks were on script.
The 2nd quarter were a bit jumbled.
The 3rd quarter starter getting weird.
Then the last quarter were mostly on script, bar Bills, who bailed completely.

Re: NFL Thread
That was crazy. Wonder if they had eyes on Pearsall so traded down a few spots expecting him to be there. Got blindsided when 49ers took him and traded again to regroup. Only for Panthers to take another WR off the board.Matt wrote: ↑April 26, 2024, 1:52 pm Bills trade outta the 1st with Panthers.

What's most incredible is dropping out of 1st round they they lose the 5th year option on whoever they take.

Re: NFL Thread
Lot of thoughts on the first round
But some quick thoughts from Sydney airport waiting for our flight home to gods country
The eagles getting their pick of cbs at 22 was really unexpected
I was expecting a small trade up for Arnold expecting Mitchell going in the top 12
or stick and pick for DeJean
To come out of the first two rounds with both DeJean and Mitchell is awesome. A much needed overhaul to the Philly secondary

Re: NFL Thread
I'm liking Guyton and Beebe. That really solidifies the OL. I'm guessing they are going to move Beebe to C, but for him to still be there at 73 is massive value. He was the 2nd best genuine guard IMO.
I'm not sold on the Kneeland pick. I'll be honest, wasn't looking at edge, so dont know much about him. Been focusing on OL, LB, RB, DT. So the fact we went edge in the 2nd confuses me a little. That said, Cooper, Brooks, JPJ, Sweat, Smith, Frazer were all gone, so might have been 1 of those, were all out picks. VERY surprised the pick wasn't Bensen, RB, who went to the Cards 6 or 7 picks later.
We might have missed the LBs now too. With Colson and Wallace both gone before 73. Gonna have to game on Wilson's fitness - but Lee, Smith and LVE suggests that doesn't work out. So Trootter could be a goer.
Panthers taking our guys - Brooks and Wallace.
