Imagine Chev comes in and has a game or 2 where he can’t be dropped.
Would be nice to have someone like Rapana in the 14

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Chevy Stewart to debut
Over the next few weeks, we play the Titans at home, the Broncos in Brisbane, the Sharks at home, and Manly at Brookvale.
While the Titans are definitely struggling so far, the next three are quite high-level games.
If Rapana misses a month, for example, how confident are we to play Chevy against last years Grand Finalist, and Manly at Brookvale where DCE tends to give us a bath?
The alternative is Hoppa or Kris at fullback, and I am not a fan of that. Thoughts?

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

In such circumstances, Chevy’s jersey to keep. If he plays well, keep him in. If Rapana is out, don’t drop Chevy unless it is clear he isn’t up to it and his development is better off in cup. Otherwise, yeah Hopa or Kris. Savage came out and said he wasn’t up to being the fullback in the off season.

Stewart should be next up in this situation so I'm more than happy if I'm proved wrong and we see his selection today.

I’m one of Chevy’s biggest fan but that’s a big ask.dubby wrote: ↑April 9, 2024, 2:39 pm Over the next few weeks, we play the Titans at home, the Broncos in Brisbane, the Sharks at home, and Manly at Brookvale.

I think they should play Weekes there in NSW cup this weekend and then think about bringing him in or at least having him ready to go.

Canberra Raiders teen Chevy Stewart set for NRL debut after Jordan Rapana injury
The Canberra Raiders are set to give an NRL debut to fullback Chevy Stewart for Sunday's clash against the Gold Coast Titans, after Jordan Rapana aggravated a knee injury. Stewart is only 18 years old but had a spectacular rise through the grades in Canberra last season. After Rapana had scans on Monday for a meniscus issue in his right knee and was ruled out of this weekend's home game, Stewart has now been greenlit to make his NRL debut.

And stoked for Mooney.

It's always Ricky's fault
Seriously though, I think we win this.

Excellent team and so pumped for Chevy and Trey. Hope they both kill it.
Horse is unlucky. No Origin for him. Can’t help but wonder if coming back underdone contributed to it. Classic way to get a groin injury.
And I hate seeing Rapa injured. Hopefully, he recovers and plays out the rest of the season in a style that befits the legend he is.

I’m so excited - this is close to our best team. Guler dropping the pecking order “chefs kiss”.
Sticky has been blooding the kids well starting with Strange last year - Chevy is going to come into round 1 next year worlds ahead where he is now.
I also think they may have nailed the development of Trey Mooney - he is only 21 but so ready for first grade. Time will tell.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Chevy Stewart to debut
Credit to Ricky for making the right choices this week. I would have been very unhappy to see one or both of:
A. Guler brought back in to replace Hors
B. Kris moved to fullback and Cotric brought into centre.
I think both of the above were highly possible and would have been classic Ricky selections, but Stewart and Mooney were the right choices and I'm excited to see them. Hoping Mooney can make himself undroppable from here on (and Whitehead's calf heals reeaaally slowly).
