I think we'll see Schiller play wing this week.

I am hopeful big red named and Guler back to NSW Cup.

Saulo isn't going anywhere. Neither is EW
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Oh OK, I thought I read somewhere Hoppa had a niggle....must have got that wrong.

Man I'll be glad to see Kris back.

Savage is seen primarily as a winger these days, but he'll fill in at 1 when necessary during a game.

Chevy will eventually take the 1

I would start Rapana and switch them during the game.

I still struggle to understand what happened to Savage. 2 years ago he was great at FB and then last year MIA.

Sign me up too. Im not sure about Puru as back up hooker but I'd love to see how that team goes. I remain pessimistic though that we'll see a full Raiders team picked on the strength of their performances at any point this year. A favoured few will continue to be assured a spot in the 17 over more deserving players and I think Mooney will sign with another club for next year - and fair enough too.

I don’t see where Puru’s future is. He is too small to play exclusively as 13 in the NRL. I could see him playing a 2nd hooker/lock role similar to Havali but you would have think if this was his pathway we would see him playing some 9 in Cup.

Currently we have too many average hookers blocking up our system.

I would be looking to shop Levi and or Starling.

Yep zero chance. Hoppa and Cotric are going to be well and truly called up every time before Schiller.

I'm even doubtful we'll see Guler dropped this weekend. Both he and EW should be long gone.

I think Puru has an NRL future but maybe not long term at Canberra. I don't think he easily fits into the current Raiders system but I could see him playing plenty of games at a club that is less focused on power through the middle. He probably realizes this which is why he wanted the option on his deal.

As Nickman kind of said, I reckon aside from trolls and people with obvious personal conflicts of interest, it seems like there is a consensus people want to see more of:

Mooney
Mariota
Hosking
Schiller
Woolford
Puru

And less of:

Guler
Saulo
Whitehead
Hoppa/Cotric
Starling
Levi

I’m going to be gutted if Mooney leaves when we have second rowers playing minutes in the middle. I don’t know what more he can do when his stats are god tier and he is even better in the eye test.

I honestly have not see a reserve grade player more deserving of first grade based on performance alone.

I guess I cant fault them on his development when he has continuously got better but it starts to feel like theres a game of chicken going on when it comes to not giving him his shot.

Puru is an interesting one. He looks really fast this year which again is a thumbs up to the fitness coaches but if he is not the back up 13 and that goes to hors if smithies gets injured than I would probably release trev and play him starting 9 with woolford off the bench. If he isn't back up 13 than it's really hard to see a place for him.

Perhaps with Woolford off contract, next year in cup we could see Trev at 9 and Puru back to that more hooker/lock role as a starling injury cover?

Watched the warriors game again and EW really offers nothing anymore and it's a shame, he's been one of the best club men and players we've had, tough and skill full, but looks a shadow of himself. Needs cup time for fitness, too slow now.
Hopoate can never be picked at centre again. Ever.
Cotric doesn't have it. Asomua does.
Savage has it. One of the first picked now.
Why didn't weekes play cup ? I hope Ricky isn't gonna put him at 5/8 this week... good way to get the sharks a win

Hooker is looking like the strongest position at the club from Flegg down, I would be expecting at least one of them will be stepping up to Cup next year. Maybe even later this year if there are injuries.

Yeah i dont think we really need to go and get a 4-5 year long term option
I think the depth at the club in that position and the quality of the depth is at a really high level, a few of these young blokes are REALLY promosing.

I think we just need a competent hold over for 1-2 years to give them time. Problem is i think Stuart thinks he has that and he doesnt.

Hosking
Schiller
Woolford
Puru

And less of:

Guler
Saulo
Whitehead
Hoppa/Cotric
Starling
Levi
Agreed. A bench of Mooney, Ata, Horse, and one of Starling and Puru would kill it.
At least two of the "less of" category are off contract and hopefully won't be around next year.

BTW your first line cracked me up for a Sunday evening.

I think the depth at the club in that position and the quality of the depth is at a really high level, a few of these young blokes are REALLY promosing.

I think we just need a competent hold over for 1-2 years to give them time. Problem is i think Stuart thinks he has that and he doesnt.
Mitch Brophy terrific today in the Laurie Daley Cup Grand Final.

I don't think we need to decide right now. They are all at different stages of development.

The top two are Xavier Cacciotti and Mitchell Brophy in my view, but Owen Pattie could easily prove that to be wrong. Ethan Alaia is a very good hooker, but he's playing in the halves at the moment as he has versatility and there are that many hookers. Shaun Packer also strong and there's Toby Thorburn in there... neither playing at the moment, presumably due to injury. Both of them are strong, and more advanced, but I think the ceiling of the other three is highest.

So many options, but I’m still of the strong view that Danny Levi is the best 9 in the club and is who Ricky will pick when the team is announced tomorrow.
