He was still SG Ball, when he arrived at the start of last year, made his Flegg debut in Round 19. Then didn’t play in Round 22 as selected, before he was late inclusion in the final match of the year against the Sea Eagles in Round 24. No doubt promises of development contract/promotion is one reason he’s moved to Canberra. But it does seem like a bit of a leap of faith based on what I saw of him in 2022. Thomas Casey, who’s gone to Queensland now, had more impact. Maybe Ethan was affected by injury.

He's always in the last place you look.
Re: Raiders Contracted Players - Updated 3 March 2023
First post updated for March deadline contract list. Zane Dunford confirmed as a departure from the club before he ever played. Was listed to be promoted to top 30 in 2025, so the Raiders clearly had high expectations of him. Michael Asomua replaces him on the development list.
Updated for latest Harley Smith-Shields contract extension, list corrected to show Matt Timoko re-signed to end 2025.

Most of the new information is in relation to the supplementary list. Michael Asomua and Adrian Trevilyan listed at contracted to end 2025, previously it was reported to be to end 2024 for both players. It’s possible 2025 is wrong. Both Noah Martin and Vena Patuki-Case on promises of top 30 promotion.
Utoloa Asomua - end 2025
Troy Dargan - end 2025
Jordan Martin
Noah Martin - end 2026 (top 30 from 2026)
Vena Patuki-Case - end 2025 (top 30 from 2025)
Adrian Trevilyan - end 2025
NRL.com hasn't listed Jordan Martin, but the Raiders have.

Re: Raiders NRL Contracted Players - Updated 29 November 2023
I'm happy that Fog will be with the Raiders for the next 2 seasons with an option for 2026. He is the only FG half in the squad and will help bring the youngsters through. Even if/when they take over from him, he is FG quality cover who will not let anyone down. I think the Club is on the right track with this signing. The fact that he is a quality person adds to his value to the Club and team.

Re: Raiders NRL Contracted Players - Updated 15 January 2024
Troy Dargan was probably the backup. Now I assume they'd be hoping for Sanders by round 6.
They really should be looking for another senior journeyman type player to bridge the gap.

Re: Raiders NRL Contracted Players - Updated 15 January 2024
With Whitehead and Rapa retiring at the end of the year, I feel we let Cotric go and don’t extend him. That frees up a fair chunk of cap space between those 3.
Priority signing is Mooney. With Papa at the end of his career, we need a mixture of experience and youth in our prop rotation. Taps and Horse as our experienced rep players, Ata and Trey as our youngins. Saulo as fifth drop.
If we let Cotric go, I’d then be looking to extend Schiller. That right wing spot would be a 3 way fight between Schiller, Hoppa and Asomua (although if Raps did ask for one more year, I wouldn’t hate it unless it was a transition year). I personally think it’s between Asomua and Schiller, and given Schiller is the only one with first grade experience, if we don’t extend him, it’ll be Hoppa until Asomua is ready. Would prefer the depth.
If we get Mooney, I’m a bit meh on Hola. I think he’s an awesome cup player but he’s behind such a deep rotation that he’s been unlucky not to crack into our side. We still have Guler for next year and other up and comers for depth. At the right price, certainly happy for him to stay.
Timoko and Savage (and hopefully Strange) should be extended before 1 Nov to avoid anyone trying to get their grubby hands on them.
I’m torn on Woolf. I think he’s our best 9, but our 9 is our weakest spot and both Levi and Starling are with us next year. I’d hope we go for a signing in this position, which would mean Woolf would be redundant. Depends on what our recruitment plans are.
Ps. Saulos contract should be updated to end 2026 I believe
