Love the suburban grounds.
Lyall Peacock field Toronto NSW.
Drive ya car into the ground, park on the hill and hold your car horn on all day.
With beautiful Stony Creek behind the goal posts at the northern end.
Pristine..
Tell me more about Rivett Oval rep.

As am I. With the vape and a slab of Carltons sitting on the grassy gnoll in front of the changerooms (as is Rivett tradition).

Re: 2026 World Cup
Well, it's got grass. Line markings etched into the turf for soccer, rugby union and rugby league, and an astroturf cricket pitch, but between two of the three football fields. It's also got the soccer/rugby goalposts, and quite a decent hill looking over the field. Parking may be an issue, as might the change rooms. You could have three games on at once, which could help with scheduling!

The vape is a new thing for Rivett Oval. It used to be where Orchy bottles and garden hoses went to die.

That is true. Should do a historical re-enactment. Dad would always get the **** when our hose would be constantly sourced over a period of two years. We legitimately had a serial hose thief. This of course was taking place when the Stirling oval half-pipe/netball courts would get a workout from young folk in their Geminis with 15in subooooofers.

Stirling would make a great training base for a World Cup side. Imagine having a great training session, then popping down to Cooleman Court for Kingsleys!

My dad used to work for Orchy out at Queanbeyan. Was probably me who left the bottle at Rivett Oval.reptar wrote:The vape is a new thing for Rivett Oval. It used to be where Orchy bottles and garden hoses went to die.

Re: 2026 World Cup
Honestly, and with no offence intended, vaping is for teenage girls trying to look cool.
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
