As anticipated, the clock finally struck midnight and he turned back into the pumpkin he's always been. The knights have quickly realised they have been sold a bill of goods
I thought he did well for the raiders considering he was on a very small contract. He very much did lack natural talent and relied on energy and enthusiasm.

Not the kind of player to get into a bidding war over. I wonder if the beach town vibe / culture with pretty girls is too much for him.

Haha he basically disappeared the moment Adam Elliott conveniently went to Newcastle. Totally not the same person I’m sure....

I do wonder if he’s now a member of the Knights forum though haha

YOU RANG? Well now my friendos , I have missed you all too! :hi However a good shepherd doesn’t abandon his flock , I have been monitoring the situation as it unfolds , as I knew it would as it was always written, with Ricky and co pushing into first place contention- and still some of you continue to run him down! With others happy Jacks leaving ! Calling me - ME- Mrs Elliott! Saying our flawless victories are barely even wins!

Now, certain ones of you lot , are slowly starting to see the truth, and admit what you are - “ guys I’m so so sorry I was wrong and Joshjacksonshead was right about Ricky all along” cough Nickman cough

“Where’s joshjacksonshead I miss him so much please come back to me from the Knights forum kiss hug kiss “ cough elcapitanofinchy cough :roflmao , Christ all we need is Rickmando to pipe up and we’ll have a full set!

Now , it might be time for me to start regulating on here again , but I’m a bit tired from doing manual labour 6 days a week, and the bullies grind my gears even further, it takes more than the likes of this lot

Jackson was a sensational signing by Canberra and obviously a horrific signing by Newcastle.

There’s a salary cap it all comes down to value and how you rate players.

And I’d not be laughing at this because this club doesn’t play a genuine lock and it is one of the main reasons we’re ****. I’ll take Puru but gee whiz.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Hors at lock isn't ideal imo, but he's twice the player Elliott ever has been or will be.

Hors is not natural in his ball playing. I'd like to see a stat collected for hookers, halves, and locks that is something like this: 'Passing Width': the length a player can pass the ball with 90% accuracy (i.e., hit = hitting a guys hands in front of chest/belly, in time). You could calculate passing width for left side and right side.

It would be a stat a bit like goal kicking in that to have enough data for it to be useful you would have to collect the data over a season. But i'd say for those key passing positions (hooker, halves, 13) you should be able to calculate something like this with some accuracy across 10 games.

Long story short, Hors wouldn't have great passing width.

How Terry Campese found the light through injury

Between 2008-10, Terry Campese was on top of his game. Making it look easy by being named five-eighth of the year and being three points shy of winning the Dally M medal, while also playing for Australia and State of Origin just one time.

What seemed like a career heading in the right trajectory gets flipped upside down, as Campese injured his ACL for the first time. It’s not that he tore his ACL, it took place during a must-win game for the Raiders in the semi-finals against the Wests Tigers.

“I didn’t know what to expect,” Campese said.

“I was out for nine months, I didn’t know what the rehab was going to be like.”

What light? I read that article and I’m not sure the light was mentioned more than once.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

I thought it was a mutual option.

I’m surprised he took it up. He’ll finish his career in reserves by the look of things. You’d think some other club or ESL would be dumb enough to take a gamble on him instead.

I’m ‘guessing’ Hodgo had one of those kind of player options where he earns say $350k by taking up his option, but the club option was $550k if they wanted to keep him.

It was a mutual option yep. The numbers are more like $600k vs $500k though

Have the cowboys lost since they added Semi Valemi? They are claiming some big scalps. Semi is proving to be a good luck charm like JC is for us.

Former NRL playmaker Blake Austin could return back home

The agent of former NRL playmaker Blake Austin has reportedly been in contact with multiple clubs for his services in 2024.

Austin, a former playmaker for the Panthers, Tigers and Raiders, is currently in the second and final year of his contract with the Leeds Rhinos and has emerged as a potential recruitment option for Super League and NRL clubs for 2024.

I loved John Bateman as a player here during his time in green.

However, the way he held the club to ransom during our biggest week for a couple of decades, days out from the 2019 GF never sat well with me, it still doesn’t.

So I say this genuinely - seeing this mercenary get his pound of flesh, but having to do it as a part of a woeful Tigers team, standing out there as the cowboys run 13 tries past them… the schadenfreude is absolutely delicious

You’d think someone with his competitive nature would care more about winning premierships than cash, but the way he behaved here and his current inflated long contract at the Tigers shows he’s only in it for himself. He could have gone to a top club for half the money and proved himself, but he’d rather go to a cellar dweller and get paid.
