It’s not as if we have someone else waiting in the wings ..or a plan to do something with the wasted cap space on Croker’s extension..

Can't argue. Wonder if Lozza is keen to play 5 more for 250.
Let’s roll him out ….

We do nothing with the ball, yet still make errors…
Penrith throw the ball around and put 50 on us despite errors in their game today too…
We are coached to be a conservative set completion team…but we do absolutely nothing with that possession.
There was a stat published at the start of the season (I think in the Sydney Morning Herald) that showed we were last when it came to points per possession in the attacking 20..

Yeah this. Getting flogged by Penrith isn’t the issue. The ineptitude in attack is. That’s on Stuart. It’s also on the most pedestrian player in the competition earning 500k to play in the halves as well imo.benda wrote: ↑March 31, 2023, 7:25 pmInability to dish up attack with no creativity is our biggest issue.Seiffert82 wrote: ↑March 31, 2023, 7:21 pm Penrith made 10 errors in that game...and still scored 9 tries.

Re: 2023 Rd 5 v Panthers: Game Day
Ever since my old man took me to my first game at Bruce in 1998 I have loved this team. And I always will.
I largely support unsuccessful clubs across different codes so I am far from a bandwagoner.
But I find something particularly galling about a club that is mediocre and is not even trying to rectify it. In fact in the past they have indicated they are actively proud of it (Furner, 30 games etc)
I will always support this club but I absolutely do not hold it against anyone who disassociates themselves from the team during these times to spare themselves the hurt.
If the club don’t care then it is nothing short of masochistic to expect fans to turn up every week and care.

Not sure if its been mentioned earlier - but at the game end, (after the last try) - did anyone notice Elliot laying down the law to the team - they stayed in a huddle and he was yelling and pointing at them. Not sure what it means - but it was interesting...

In the last 10 years the teams that have won premierships are the Cowboys, Roosters, Souths, Sharks, Storm and Penrith.
We blew it in 2016 and 2019, and now it is for certain all over. We are the one left standing without a chair from the last decade, everyone else good got to have it but us.

Penrith Panthers maul hapless Canberra Raiders as Jaeman Salmon has last laugh
It took the opening 10 minutes of the second half for the Canberra Raiders to lose last week - this week it took 13. You wouldn't have known there was just seven points in it at half-time, with the Penrith Panthers blowing the Green Machine away 53-12 at Canberra Stadium on Friday night.
To rub salt in the Raiders' wounds, Jaeman Salmon crashed over in the dying seconds of the game to bring up the Panthers' half century - having been at the centre of the "weak-gutted dog" controversy in the capital last year.
PENRITH PANTHERS 53 (Sunia Turuva 2, Izack Tago 2, Nathan Cleary, Zac Hosking, Tyrone Peachey, Stephen Crichton, Jaeman Salmon tries; Cleary 8 goals, field goal) bt CANBERRA RAIDERS 12 (Elliott Whitehead, Hudson Young tries; Jamal Fogarty 2 goals) at Canberra Stadium. Referee: Adam Gee. Crowd: 15,334.

The biggest smiles of the night for Penrith came in the final minute when Jaeman Salmon put a bookend on last year's "weak-gutted dog" saga with an emphatic message to sledging fans at Canberra Stadium.
"I just said 'weak-gutted dog'. I think it was pretty obvious. Just a bit of fun," Salmon said. "It was good karma," Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said. "That's how I'd describe that."

While you wouldn't have known it by watching the second half, the game was closely contested through the opening 40 minutes, and the Panthers led by just seven points after a Sunia Turuva double and a Nathan Cleary field goal.
